ADD: can anyone suggest a decent punch for getting that pin out of the convertible motor gear pinion (sheared at BOTH ends). I busted a DASCO 3/32 punch the other day trying to get it out - to no avail. Is there a stronger or better tool to punch that pin out? Anyone? |

you have to buy the whole plate. toyota does not sell just the bushings.... and it sucks Do they HAVE to spin/rotate or is just keeping it 'on guide' sufficient? If that's the only alternative, I'm going to test something that might be helpful for others out there. |

I was afraid of that. I've seen these for sale: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/33oAAOSwtZVZqbUy/s-l1600.jpg I'm guessing then that requires some serious metalwork/machining? Does anyone know what material these things are made out of? |

I connect the booster with alligator clamps to the neg battery terminal. I thought the terminals were clean... but I'm going to do a treatment and light sand on them today to try that. How many CCAs are usually needed for our 6th gens to start? |

95 vert won't start with older 530 CCA or 700 CCA batteries, BOTH of which DO start/run a 97 Accord... So I don't think the batteries are 'bad'. Took one to O'Reilly and they said it checked out. It WILL start with the application of a 600Amp battery booster jumpered though (but only if its charged to 100% - even one bar less than 100% charge and it's a no-go and sounds like a slow crank). Ideas? Has anyone experienced this or know what could be causing this problem? |

When the plastic bushing guide rollers break and cause the quarter glass to have difficulty raising...How does one either repair or locate new bushings? Yes, I have done the dreadful removal of the quarter glass lift assembly. I can't seem to find them out there anywhere and moreover, I don't immediately see how to get the old ones off and new ones on (the center bolt doesn't seem to be removable and there is no "back". Do they just lift/pop off? Anyone know where to find the right size match? |

Yep. This is why my top frame broke. found one pin sheared at both ends. Modified a titanium/cobalt drill bit for replacement, but can't seem to tap the broken middle part of the old one out of the the motor gear for the life of me!! Bent/broke a Dasco 3/32 punch trying to knock it out... Any ideas or suggestions? Ideas anyone? |

I am facing the same problem with my 95 Celica gt convertible lift motors. When they started failing, it snapped the frame lift arm in two!! I've disassembled the rear already (need to fix the rear quarter window lift assy. as well)... If anyone who has done this has the ability to cut a pair of those 3/32 1/2" titanium drill bits, I'd gladly pay! Also - anyone in LA know of where to weld said frame parts together? the main lift arm broke and so did the eye loop with the star shoulder bolt. Is tig or mig necessary or can you propane weld those parts? ay-yay-yia |
