I love those wheels.

Probably the nicest wheels I have seen on a 6th gen.

Beautiful work by the way.

Thank you! Yea for some cheap wheels they look nice. And the quality of the finish is great! however some authentic TE37 SL's would hit the spot also!

Thank you! I am happy with how its coming along.
Yes I do work for Airlift however I am Not a sales man and that's not the reason I say that.. We have done many test on the track and street to prove this. I understand it's not for everyone, however anyone that has the idea that our air suspension can not perform is uneducated on the design and typically the over all function of how a suspension works.

On a side note parts are at paint! Pretty excited to get them back. After the second set of JDM fenders arrived damaged I gave up.. I was tired of waiting and wasting money. So out of my two sets of wrecked JDM fenders i made a template of the side marker lights. That way i could trace out the exact location and shape of the hole I would have to cut into the fenders. It turned out perfect. Now I am relying on the the body shop to properly shave the large front USDM marker light hole. So the car looks 100% correct. Also have the JDM/EDM rear licences plate section. Just need it painted and installed.

Ill post up some pictures hopefully Saturday after receiving parts back from paint.

Pictures from paint!! Gonna pull the car in the shop clean it up and install everything. Maybe if I have time I'll get it on air, seeing it is winter time.. Would be nice to adjust the hight incase we get heavy snow fall.

I don't get why so many people insist on getting JDM fenders instead of just doing that. I mean you're going to have to repaint it either way unless u found the same exact color in great condition and giving it ships perfectly too. lol I for one don't care much for them because I have the fender badges.

Yeah the discussion that arose from that video airlift put out a while back is an interesting one to say the least. I personally (strictly for track use, single purpose use, strictly performance in mind for the setup) wouldnt say at the price they are set at (complete setup), out perform an equally priced coilover. Not to mention the added weight of the system. Saying air outperforms coilovers is a pretty broad statement I guess, not that I can control what and how people say things on the internet (not that I havent tried)
No offense meant to you, this is just and observations but the majority of people I see pushing this air > coils for track applications deal, from what Ive seen, are sponsored or are in some way associated with the company.

I do have to say, I am really interested in these systems and its really cool how far they have come in the past 10 years. I would love to have my DD be on air. That would be awesome sauce.

Back to the build:

Yeah, being in the US, its better off just DIY'ing the JDM fenders unless you know of a set in the US that can be picked up. They are unreasonably fragile, and damage so easily (usually from improper packaging support)
I lost $350 on some JDM fenders way back when from a UK member who scammed me. One and done for me haha
As long as that front sidemarker can be patched without showing a silhouette of the hole, it is so much more worth it that way. Looks like you pulled that off!

Yea I don't think I'll be driving it in the winter tongue.gif looking at buying a beater this weekend. This is defiantly the way to go with the fenders. It worked great and you couldn't tell inside or out that they were modified. I'm extremely happy with the paint/body work!!

Yes it's a very annoying aruement/discussions. For everyone that questions that video we were competeing with Kw V3 coilovers. But don't get me wrong I 100% agree. If it's a track car don't waist the money on bags.. There's no point. Now if you like to track it and drive on Michigan roads, then there is no better option:) but the price is deffinatly the largest down fall. For example the suspension on this car would be about $3400 to duplicate.. but it will handle great, adjust on the fly, and hopefully get nice and low:)

As far as the car goes, worked a while today getting it all put back together. And man does it look nice:) I'm extremely happ! I have everything on and gaped properly (I'm way to picky on this). Just need to put the side skirts on tomorrow, and I will post pictures. I have decided against the C-one front lip . It fits great and all but something about it just don't look right to me. It's just not the look I'm going for I suppose. Any one looking to buy it smile.gif?

Worked on the celica some more today, decided that the black plastic vent pieces on the hood, and upper/lower bumper grill assembly's were showing their age. So before install I decided to prep them and spray them a nice satin black. Turned out looking like brand new! Here are some pics.
Before

After

And well a couple sneak peaks:) got her washed up and the skirts installed today. Used all the new OEM under clips and front screws/ guards. Then ran 3m two face tape down the leading edge with some prep bonding agent. They fit nice and flush (have I mentioned how much body gap bugs me lol) Ignore the painters tape just want to help that two face tape cure over night.

Good night

Thank you, I appreciate it! Its funny the snow tires I bought for the beater today cost $25 more then the car did laugh.gif Should be a beast though!

-Moving the car to my storage garage tonight, then if all goes as planed this weekend my body guy will be over to wet sand all the freshly painted panels, and then full 3 stage compound buff the entire car. So she should look really nice. Now just to find time to get the damn bags on this thing smile.gif

Celica looks great! I feel sorry for all the people up north that can't drive their fun car year round or if it's an only car that heavily influences what they get.

I'm surprised you found a relatively nice car that runs and drives for $300, I figured those days were long gone thanks to the government and their stupid cash for clunkers program but I guess there's been enough later model used cars added into the market to make it happen.

Thank you, and yea I always seem to find good ones lol, my last beater (91 celica GT-S) and the one before that (92 Celica GT) I bought under $600.00. The 91 lasted me 4 years of daily driving. She went to the scrap yard running great with 378k on the clock frown.gif

So I have some nice subtle carbon fiber parts on the way for the exterior, honestly I had no idea anyone even offered these peices. I'm pretty excited to say the least however they will take a little over a month to get to me kindasad.gif Meanwhile I figured it was time to start focusing on the interior . Decided to order a hub for the steering wheel I have and finally get that installed. As for seats I am still debating what I want to do . I really want the Recaro confetti seats however I have these perfect condition leather and suede Evo9 Recaro seats I could install. Either way plan on having rears cost of upholstered to match the fronts. Really trying to get the car where I want it before the end of January. There is a huge indoor show here in Michigan (AutoRama) in the middle of February, and I would like to attend it.

Here is a picture of the wheel, when I first got the car. Was debating then to install it.

Well it depends on what look you want, the EVO IX seats would kind of modernize the interior somewhat whereas the JDM confetti seats would be most excellently 90's. If you're like me and like having airbags you could do the 7th gen steering wheel swap, at least that's what I was going to do before I sold it.

Yea, exactly what I was thinking with interiors also. I want the car to look era correct, which is why I'm going to hold off and continue searching for nice confetti seats. As far as the wheel go I'm not a big fan of the 7th gen wheel, or maybe it's because everyone has them. No airbag does not bother me as long as it's equity with a collapsible hub. I was thinking a 94 GT4 wheel would suit it well, but finding one not trashed is difficult. I really think the style of this Nardi wheel is just right. Making cruise work and mount maybe tricky, but I'm sure it won't be too difficult.

Have you seen that Mike is selling a set of covers? You may need to pick up a set of '96+ seats to make them work but that shouldn't be too expensive.
