they appear as OEMS, gutted, filled with expanding foam, shaped and covered with fiberglass and bondo or of such materials

Posted by: DSToyo Apr 12, 2007 - 11:37 AM

noob question--where do you get expanding foam at?
and they look good so far, curious to see the finished product

Posted by: playr158 Apr 12, 2007 - 11:40 AM

I had thought about the clear turn, but am unable to find one I like. Still a possibility tho!

they are actually from a trailer or semi truck site. I wanted to make custom lights but would have ended up costing a lot more.

Just got my harness back from Doc, and hope to have some time this weekend to finish getting it in!
no I don't have them wired in yet, I need to get a male adapter for the lights.

Mad props for originality man! Its totally awesome to see people doing stuff thats totally different from everyone else!

Posted by: manphibian Apr 13, 2007 - 5:37 AM

Nice work man! Well worth the hard work.
For sure IMO you should brush the bezels, if you could brush them in a circular pattern that would look amazing, Like a watch bezel

Posted by: vsideboy Apr 13, 2007 - 10:34 AM

I would leave the bezels and paint the lights with gloss black not matt black. (unless you're gonna make the full car matt black that is.)

but looks good mate, looked like you were moulding them out of mashed potato in the first picture haha.
