6G Celicas Forums _ My Project _ kloudkickas Progress

Posted by: kloudkicka Oct 27, 2009 - 11:05 AM

Soheres the rundown, my car was parked on a busy street during long weekend, and when i came back to my car, i found that someone decided to key the entire car, damn haters, so of course i claimed in with the autopac and yup i got enough money to have it repaired plus extras, so i decided on something new

heres wat my car looked like from beginning to now, decided to just put it all up in one thread again to show how many times its been transformed

stock

with rims and clear indicators

blitz front with invader skirts and rear

carbon fibre hood added and rims painted gold

c-one kit with gt-four hood & projectors

gt-four exterior, painted black

will have more updates of my car as the progression goes on, lemme know wat you think of all these looks, im pretty sure the last one is the nicest =)

Posted by: kloudkicka Oct 27, 2009 - 11:09 AM

last pic i have for now, this is how i left my car laast time i checked on it

Posted by: CastrolCelica Oct 27, 2009 - 11:10 AM

So you've changed the kit 3 times then? Any reason? Also, if it's the same car, it looks very sleek in black. Very very nice.

well i first put the blitz kit, liked it for a bit then got sick of looking at it, wanted something different, so i got the c-one kit and swapped my motor but the stock hood didnt fit over top the w2a intercooler, so i got the gt-four hood, then there was the problem of the gap in between the hood and the bumper, so i got the gt-four front bumper, added a lip and thats how it sits now

Posted by: SwissFerdi Oct 27, 2009 - 12:49 PM

Black GT-Faux = best version for sure. I don't hate the first two kits, for some odd reason...but you can't go wrong with that last version. Nicely done.

Posted by: kloudkicka Oct 27, 2009 - 2:02 PM

thanks for the compliment smile.gif

Kloudkicka, you know you got one of the sexiest Celicas in the states. I want that front lip. If you decide to ditch it for whatever reason, let me know and save me $600 ordering direct from Japan. Yeah?

Posted by: jordisonjr Oct 27, 2009 - 5:14 PM

Hey Kloud Kicka, are you changing the exterior of your car once again? thats what it looks like by the last picture.

Posted by: kloudkicka Oct 27, 2009 - 5:23 PM

haha thanks, i love the front lip too, but im actually in canada not the states lol, but ya i love it, your rides pretty sexy too

Honestly man, I can't see what you would possibly want to change with your car. I absolutely love it, and I think it is flawless right now. I didn't know you were in Canada. Well anyway, I do plan on getting that front lip, lol if you ever want to get rid of it, let me be the first you notify, because I want it. biggrin.gif and I don't feel like trying to translate Eurou website for it.

Posted by: kloudkicka Oct 27, 2009 - 10:34 PM

ya theres gonna be little change with my car then im probably gonna finally leave it haha, the front lip is eurou but i actually got it from japanparts, but if ever i decide to part with it, your the first on the list =)

I really liked those first rims before you painted the gold. I can't wait to see what your car will look like when it is done because the first three phases impressed me!

Posted by: kloudkicka Oct 28, 2009 - 11:40 PM

A couple more updates of the progression, spoilerless looks kinda good, hmmm

Posted by: MrAyasli Oct 28, 2009 - 11:42 PM

Wow, looks really good !
What size are your rims?

Posted by: SwissFerdi Oct 29, 2009 - 12:18 AM

Spoilerless is for sure good. Time for a duckbill, it should look SICK with your GT-Faux kit.

Haha yea, I sure am, I actually have got some more mods to it since then I order the GT-Four riser blokcs and some other things since you've seen it. What exactly are you doing to your car man? looks like your doing quite the make over. Where are you getting the work done?

Posted by: kloudkicka Oct 29, 2009 - 9:27 AM

my rims are 18's, but thinking deep dished, but then again i might be done with my car after all this is done

kloudkicka--I have just--- "lived vicariously"---in a Celica dream world in this thread!!!When THIS version is completed,I may be finding myself in a comatose state of euphoria & never wanting to wake up!!
At least I'd be driving my Celica in somewhat comparable finish!! biggrin.gif

Good to see you progressing, & thanks for updates........

Posted by: jjbenzo Nov 3, 2009 - 12:01 AM

I like how you are progressing to a nice clean OEM look. Clean and simple will never look bad. The stock GT-Four stying is by far the best you have gone with yet. Cant wait to see pics once it's painted!

i totally agree, from the first time i put a body kit on my car, i was so happy with it, but now i think the gt-four stylings are by far my favorite =)

how much was the blits kit? and was there any problem with the fitment? can you send me the link as to where you purchased them?

Posted by: kloudkicka Nov 10, 2009 - 7:21 PM

i actually got the kit off ebay years ago, and ya alot of work was needed to get it fitted properly, i had to mold the entire kit on just to get it looking good which was a big mistake once it all started to shift and crack

Man. And I thought I had good friends. They only helped me apply decals and put rotors on.. sheesh tongue.gif

Seriously though, this looks great. I like the black top as well. Makes it really stand out. Doesn't a new white paint job have so much depth on this car? I've seriously never seen a car take to white as well as a Celica.

Posted by: kloudkicka Nov 14, 2009 - 1:09 PM

Why not drive around in it now? It's not like you guys have snow atm. It's warm for this time of year for everyone, and I know that while you guys typically have snow now, it's in the 40s and 50s this month. Enjoy it while you can!

It looks great btw. GT-Fours are like the only thing you Canadians have that I'm jealous of.....well besides deadmau5.........and free clinic/hospitals................and my fiancee. tongue.gif Nevermind.

Posted by: kloudkicka Nov 17, 2009 - 11:55 AM

oh your fiancee's in canada? niiiice, and ya i would be driving it right now but i dont wanna take the chance, snow here in winnipeg gets pretty bad, once i drove my car as long as i could and got stuck in the snow cuz it just dropped like crazy out of nowhere, so i dont really take any more chances like that, but ya, and its a pain in the a$$ to cover it up and park in in the spot that i do hehe

How does the Celica do in the snow? I'd imagine it would do great... seaming as it was used in rally races. The front wheel drive versions should do fine as it's not rear wheel drive, and the Celica's footprint is good.

Yea, actually she's from Winnipeg. She's coming down here for good in just a couple weeks biggrin.gif.

Without a doubt, AWD > FWD in snow. However, my dad's office (back when I lived in Switzerland) was halfway up a mountain, and he had to drive on a really steep street in order to get there. In heavy winters, he was usually one of the only ones to make it up in his A4 when his coworkers in Bimmers and Mercs couldn't make it.

Well obviously the AWD are significantly better. However, I was curious if the FWD Celicas did alright.

Btw, if you ever want to trade Celicas, Kloudkicka, lemme know haha. Sigh, man sometimes I really do hate living in the states. tongue.gif

The Celi CAN do alright in the snow. It has that potential. However, last winter, I had summer tires on the car, and since the car's a GT 5-speed, all it wanted to do was spin. No matter how lightly I took off. It was an experience. However, I'll be investing in some decent tires for winter before too long. I'll get back to you after the first snow... if it ever gets here. 60* in November? You fail, weather.

Kloudkicka, I don't blame you for not getting that thing out in the snow. You've put a lot of work into it. I wouldn't risk it either!

Soheres the rundown, my car was parked on a busy street during long weekend, and when i came back to my car, i found that someone decided to key the entire car, damn haters, so of course i claimed in with the autopac and yup i got enough money to have it repaired plus extras, so i decided on something new

heres wat my car looked like from beginning to now, decided to just put it all up in one thread again to show how many times its been transformed

stock

with rims and clear indicators

blitz front with invader skirts and rear

carbon fibre hood added and rims painted gold

c-one kit with gt-four hood & projectors

gt-four exterior, painted black

will have more updates of my car as the progression goes on, lemme know wat you think of all these looks, im pretty sure the last one is the nicest =)

what are your first rims called they look nice and you still got them ?

Posted by: kloudkicka Nov 30, 2009 - 9:26 AM

it was an 18 inch core racing room, thats all the details i know about it except i bought them from kal-tire and ya i sold them a long time ago for dirt cheap

Posted by: kloudkicka Feb 26, 2013 - 3:01 PM

haven't added to this in awhile so i thought i'd add a quick update, some things that happened to my car were, it was in a hit n run while it was parked awhile back so this was the result of that

after a couple weeks being in the shop, a new door was put it and the rear was repaired

i dont have a picture of the door when it first got painted, but lets just say it did not match, meaning, the first guy who painted my car satin pearl white, he did not do it correctly, so what did i do? yuppp full paint job, couple weeks later aaaand

paint was perfect, very happy with the turn out, but only thing i noticed was there was a knocking in the back as i drove, i went to check and i was actually able to lift one side of the spoiler off the block, the body shop did not install the raiser blocks correctly, and thats why my car sits the way it does now............ spoilerless

other things in the works for summer, just need to take some pics

Posted by: kloudkicka Feb 26, 2013 - 3:04 PM

mods, could you move this to the "my project" section, thanks, didnt wanna start a new thread so i just continued my old one

Posted by: BonzaiCelica Feb 27, 2013 - 2:35 AM

the spoilerless look is better than a gt4/ss3 riser blocks. the oem spoiler sits way to high.

You could possibly use a bit of a spacer in the rear with a slight roll to get it a little mroe flush, but completely necessary.

where can you get them from? will they sit flush?

Posted by: The_enD Jun 23, 2013 - 3:28 AM

No idea, probably ebay. The will not sit flush, but pretty close. Google it and look at people's pictures to see.
Another thing I have in mind is round decal/sticker. Their adhesion is pretty good, they will be flush and can be matched close to your original color.

Yeah mine was just plastic finish, I cleaned it but that didn't seem to make it stickier. Shift gaiter surround was painted but the vinyl didn't stick there either. I'll be going with silver paint for the moment, maybe vinyl later. So many things to do!

That actually looks really nice, only reason i went with the carbon fibre was cuz my trim was previously painted red, then i re-did it in black and with time it wasnt looking to appealing so vinyl wrap it was, i'd do it in a gloss black if ever i wanted to redo it

Posted by: kloudkicka May 19, 2015 - 12:04 PM

on another note, picked this up from KAOS during the winter time, thaaanks again, been looking for this part for a couple years now but the price they were selling them for didnt seem to make me do it any quicker, until his part-out, currently waiting for it to get painted

i did get the center of the spoiler painted black, just waiting on the end pieces to be paint matched with the rest of the car

unfortunately the TRD wing did not come with end caps, so i needed to source a pair out, luckily i scored a set of carbon fibre end caps, i think they will look awesome when its all put together

should be completely put together and on the car in the next week or so

Posted by: kloudkicka May 30, 2015 - 8:35 PM

got the TRD sides of the spoiler paint matched and its spot on, put the spoiler together and added a TRD decal and here it is

Here are some cell phone shots of my car with the TRD wing installed after the first wash of the season

it took me a couple minutes to decide but I like the new wing MUCH more.

I never noticed how much of a curve it had on the cross bar. NICE upgrade man

Yaaa i completely agree, once i had the spoilers side by side it was obvious which one i liked more, but dont get me wrong, i love the gt-four spoiler, thats why im not selling it, but the trd wing just has that difference factor that just flows

Posted by: Tigawoods Jun 3, 2015 - 9:29 PM

It looks a bit more performance-y
especially with the TRD decal

sometimes I am envious of you guys and your sweet spoilers..

....sometimes

Posted by: kloudkicka Jun 4, 2015 - 4:05 AM

Hahaha hunt one down, but spoilerless is slick too, i went one season spoilerless and i really liked it, just didnt wanna permanently cover the holes in my trunk so i out my wing back on

Posted by: Tigawoods Jun 4, 2015 - 7:38 AM

My holes are filled now.
Ive gone the permanent route haha

Now that you have that upper hatch spoiler you kind of have to keep going with spoilers.
I dont think spoilerless in addition to having that upper spoiler looks very good.

Yaa i completely know what u mean, i was actually considering the varis visor over the visor i already have, might give it a more aggressive look, was even thinking about changing to coilovers or even running air, but thats just thoughts right now
