Hey everyone, none of you probably know who I am yet, but I love celicas.
Here is a bit of background:
My dad has owned an automatic 99 vert since around 2005 and I have loved the car ever since. I recently (past 2 years) got myself a manual 99 vert with around 65,000 miles on it! I chose the manual because I loved the car so much but I hate driving an automatic car, I just don’t feel nearly as connected to the car and it just feels wrong driving an automatic to me. Anyway, I have lurked this forum for about a year and a half now and made an account a few months ago. Seeing all of these posts have inspired me to do something with my car, so I started small, upgrading the cheapest possible things I could (broke college student). I did a few wiring projects, added a new radio, put in new lights and just overall made my car nice. I kept falling more and more in love with my car, but I always felt I was missing out by not owning a coupe or a hatchback. So I sold my car, now with 82,000 miles or so on it, and purchased a cheap gt coupe in long island.

I finally have some extra money now and I have been wanting to do some serious mods to my car for what seems like forever, and I’m going to do it.
I am a bit too excited I think, I’m not even with the car now, I’m at college and I am making this thread purely out of pictures my dad has sent me and pictures of things I am ordering online.
Next week I will be home with my car for a whole week and I plan to do as much as I can to it as fast as I can.
I will probably work on it every day of the week. Anyway, let's get started.

There are obviously a few problems with the car, it’s a car from 1994 with 115,000 miles on it so it is bound to have aged a little.

The previous owner seems to have painted over damaged/rusted areas, this should be quite the project rolleyes.gif

Antenna is stuck in the upright position

Leather drivers seat is very worn down.

Engine runs great! The radiator looks like it may need replacing soon though.

Here are the few pictures I have of the car in it's current state. It is currently covered in snow so no new pictures just yet.

But around me they are very hard to find.
Its the better looking of the 2 stock wings.
I would leave it on

Quick question to anyone who happens to read this in the next two or three days:

Is it worth going for the more expensive Megan Racing Street Series Coilovers? Or should I save a hundred dollars or so and go for the EZ Street ones?

Any specific reason for the EZ Street? Either one will be much better than the stock suspension, correct?

Never mind, just looked it up and apparently the only difference between Street Series and EZ Street is the adjustability, EZ Street has 15 settings and Street Series has 32. I definitely don't need 32 settings so I'm going to save $175 or so and go for EZ Street.

Don't think the ex streets have adjustable camber tops like the others do either

I looked it up and it doesn't seem like they do. is it worth the extra $175 is the question now.

I am totally up for suggestions guys, I don't know much about coilovers at the moment, it is starting to sound like coilovers wear down much faster than stock suspension, can anyone confirm this?

Is it worth getting the Street Series because of the camber adjustments?
I don't want unnecessary tire wear.

Depends .. are you slamming the car or are you just trying to go down acouple?
The lower you go the more likely you will need camber adjustment and coil overs don't wear down faster.

Depends on how low you want to go
If your only looking for around 2 inches get the cheaper set a a set of camber bolts
If your going lower spend the extra
I plan on spending the extra an buying camber bolts I want slammed but I want too keep perfect camber

I have an article on the Celica when it first came out somewhere, can't find it rtm, a car review where they kinda put the Celi down and say "it's not a real Sports car"
(well freakin duh, go buy a damn Supra rich mtfkr), can't find it rtm. It says that is the original design spoiler from the 94 and 95 models, they say it was actually
'Functional' like a real race car would have. But it's like they changed it because too many people didn't like the way it "looked", and then they went to the lower 3 post design.
which is totally lame to me, I'm glad I have a '94 with the 2 post - it even looks super cool in my rearview mirror biggrin.gif

So you're buying the more expensive coilovers as well as camber bolts?
I want the option of going slammed so I think I'm going street series.

How much extra would camber bolts cost and how would those be installed?

If I adjust my ride height will I need my wheels re-aligned?

Camber bolts only costs 20-25 bucks.
I have a set now with my tein lowering springs.

I'm going to use both
You probably won't need to use both. I'm just doing it because I have them already.

Yes you will need a full alignment once your done too

So once I install the coilovers I will get my wheels aligned.
Once they are installed and I decide to go lower/higher will I need a second alignment?
