The E56 Transmission:
General info: Type of Transaxle:E56-07C Manual Notes: Viscous LSD (C ) Type of Engine: 3S-GE Models: ST202, ST206, ST207 (Only SS-II 94-95 Superstrut, and some Superstrut model Currens) A triple- cone type synchromesh mechanism is used in the 2nd gear and a double- cone type synchromesh mechanism is used in the 3rd gear to improve the shift feeling characteristics. This helps to reduce the shifting effort. A reverse synchromesh mechanism is used to suppress gear engagement noise in reverse gear shifting. External fin transmission oil cooler. Uses the same transmission front cover only (effectively the bell housing) as the E154F with a plate where the transfer case would connect. Gear Ratio: 1st Gear: 3.538 2nd Gear: 2.045 3rd Gear: 1.333 4th Gear: 1.028 5th Gear: 0.820 Reverse Gear: -3.583 Differential Gear ratio: 3.944 Maintenance Oil Capacity: 3.5L (3.7 US qts , 3.1 Imp. qts) Oil Viscosity: SAE 75W - 90 Oil Grade: API GL-3, GL-4 or GL-5 Troubleshooting Use the table below to help you find the cause of the problem.
