Posted by: devilsden97 Jun 6, 2007 - 3:28 PM
WTF dude?!
all i went off of was what u just said.
"By this quote I'm under the impression he's giving the nudge to go and get the matching headlights, which are lows; since he already has the highs."
....im confused.
Posted by: Supersprynt Jun 6, 2007 - 3:30 PM
This whole thing doesn't make any sense.
JCBass said "cough clear highs cough". I took that as you have the clear highs get the lows and I thought he thought the highs were lows and made a mistake. I couldn't figure any other reason to bring up the obvious fact there are clear highs in such a fashion.
But nevermind.
Posted by: devilsden97 Jun 6, 2007 - 3:34 PM
my understanding was the he was pointing out that Batman772 got clear highs, for those that might not have known, or noticed. Then i thought u were correcting him saying that those were the lows (which they are obviously not) but coming from a man with a swapped celica, i doubted that ud make such a mistake. But i couldnt figure out any other way to explain it.

MEH, corvettes are overrated, i've taken 2 new c6's, 2 c5 verts(one with a S/C, no traction kills lol), and an old zr1....im not saying this to prettend the celi is the ultimate car either, im a muscle car guy too, and those newer vettes just dont cut it:S

I'm glad the pic I posted sparked such a debate...anyway, I got clear highs and I'm not getting the JDM lows.
I'm also thinkin about switching to a 96+ front bumper, yay or nay ?

nay
and why no projectors?
Posted by: Culpable04 Jun 6, 2007 - 8:07 PM
if you switch to 96+ bumper you'll need the matching side skirts, so I can take of your hands those sides skirts since you won't deserve them anymore lol J/K
I'd say keep your 94-95 bumper, to my eyes it looks better than 96+

Dont know prices in the US but the H&R DRS Series (with extended lug nuts of course) are not that expensive here, maybe because of the exchange rate they are? And what is 250-300 USD on top of the swap/paint and everything else you've done that make it 'your ride'. Of course I dont know anything about your financial situation.
Posted by: doGGy Jun 18, 2007 - 3:34 PM
Erik - get a Toms lip to finish up the front look - or somthing just to make your car look totaly compleate. Either way - it looks so damn beautiful! And its nice to see Old school member still loving his ride
Posted by: Supersprynt Jun 18, 2007 - 3:40 PM
I am not planning to add anything more to the body. Its already pretty low and anything lower is going to get beat up. I'm not a big fan of body kits and I'd rather put that money towards more power.
Thanks for the compliments.

for all who care, after discussing with lagos, and some of my nerdy photography friends, i ended up getting the s5, and have about 3000 pictures now, day time of the landscape around my house, pictures on the lake and of the lake, and prolly 1000 of those are sunset pics, 300 of which involve my car and some dramatic scenery, also i played around with hte manual mode and have some great night shots, not the best since im not a pro or anything like super & c3l1ca. file sizes are huge, so i plan to eventually upload a good deal of them to a dedicated photobucket account and share the albums, next meet i vote we all go to the blue marsh area, seemingly endless miles of smooth paved bendy roads, hundreds of breathless overlooks with fields, mountains, creeks, farm houses, waterwheels, and of course the lake to have as a background. if everyone doesnt mind, since i dont know how to do thumbnail links like ive seen on here ill do res like the one above since thats what my laptop is currently, 1280x800
enjoy!
this was not chopped other than to resize to my liking, yes the hid lights do look like that

Been done by several people, it's just a GTS headlight cover.
Check the profile if you're interested.
I figured since my car is black in the first place, I might as well match it. Gonna paint the rims soon to gunmetal as well. You need a good HID to be able to see at night. With stock lighting its terrible if you put a cover in it.
Thanks for the comments guys =)

randy- are you sure the holes are pre-drilled in the wrong spot? you had a 3 post wing so only the back two holes of the risers should of lined up with the middle of the 3 holes on your hatch. it is a big wing, but it looks better in person than in pictures. i have a 2 post ready, but im liking the wingless look now

I had to modify them to get them to work. This big assed wing is going to take
some getting use to.
Wow Randy. Your car looks really good with the blocks on there. It looks like its coming together very well. I know it took a while for me to get used to my wing. But in person it don't look as big as it does in pictures.

I had the 2 post on already it fit well with .25" dia holes I drilled, the stock are about .39"dia.
I drilled the hatch out to stock size and it goes on now. The holes for the spoiler to riser
block were way off on one block. I would have rather they didn't drill them at all instead of me
having to oversize and basicly slot one out to get the right fit.
Oh well it's on now.
I have had 3 post 2 post with and without risers and wingless, I think wingless looks the
cleanest of all, but the big mama is starting to grow on me.

Yeah I know, unfortunately though I can't make JAE. Gotta work. Otherwise, I'd be down there with my Celica with the club, well, not at the club tent probably, just b/c my Celica isn't anything to be oogled over. I did become a full member now of the club though and I'm trying to make a few meets here and there. I'm heading over to Bradford after work tomorrow (Sunday) to Old Brickworks for some lunch.

I'm not a fan of the taillights, and your wing is a little big, but other than that you have an amazing looking car! JDM projectors would make it outstanding!

A duckbill would look the best on there IMO. Car looks great

I think a real TRD wing would look best. not the erebuni one which seems alot taller.

lol ya that pic was before i installed the rear springs, plus i had 225-50 tires on the back and 205-50 tires on the front. looks a lot better now.
the pic i posted on page 7 has the rear springs installed but not the 225-50 tires on front. prokit doesnt drop very much. but with the spring and larger tires, i like the way it looks now. 2 finger gap front and back, and not to low to be a pita.
