I watched this movie the other day... and actually thought about what I saw today. It's basically mushing my brain into a fine pulp.

If you saw the movie, what was your conclusion on the ending? Reality, or not.

At the very, very, VERY last split second, I noticed his totem start to wobble like it was going to fall, not the normal 'spinning' wobble. So I think it was real.

good question! im thinking since it wobbled they were in the real world...HOWEVER we never saw it fall soooooo.... let your imagination take you further wink.gif

BTW more movies should end like this... americans have become too accustomed to having things laid out for them, this ending promotes creative thinking i put that movie in my top5 of all time

me and my girl were talking about how when he tried the sleeping chemical in the basement he never got the totem to work because Saito came into the bathroom and it fell to the ground before he could spin it, so from that point on, it may have all just been him dreaming in the sleep chamber.

I read that as well. He never uses the totem after he tries out the experimental drugs in Mombasa... so did he ever ACTUALLY wake up?

The totem at the end does wobble, but it spins for awhile. His kids appear to be in the same exact spot, wearing the same exact clothing they did in his memory? This doesn't make sense.

He wears his wedding ring in real life, but not while dreaming... at the end there's no wedding ring...

I don't think that was Nolan's intention at all. The ending is purposeful.

All I can say is wow. That movie was great. And there better not be a sequel.

great flick. There aren't too many movies out there that are both mind twisting and entertaining.

Maybe someone should start a list...

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

at the end the director just did exactly what the movie was about. implanting an idea into ur head and letting it grow into your own idea. To question if the movie was in real time or a dream. the entire movie we are all thinking it is all real, but at the end the idea is planted that mabe this isnt real, that it is all a dream. This would all make everyone wonder if what we are living is actually real life or only a dream that we dont know were in. hmmmm
pretty damn good movie!!
best one ive seen in a whyle

My take on the ending was that it was real because it wasn't a perfect spin and you could see it faltering. I agree the kids were in the same spot or whatever, but I believe it was just set up to eff with you. Great movie

I woke up at the end and thought I had dreamed seeing it. laugh.gif

All a choice of what one wants, the dream or the 'reality'. Perception and Choice ?
