Thanks to everyone who helped me out.
For now I have but one question. (It's likely more are to come).
How much do 3ste's usually go for? I'll do my own research, but I'd like you hear from you guys too.

3ste's? Never head of such a thing. Now there are 3s-fe's and 3s-ge's and 3s-gte's and i see no reason you couldnt turbo a 3s-fe making a 3s-fte....

But you are probably wondering about the Crown jewel's 3s-gte (highest preformance turbocharged engine)

Keep you letters right, one letter can make a lot of difference.

EDIT: wait, on second thought, a 3s-te would be a turbocharged 3s engine, without a head? Right? laugh.gif

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-TOYOTA-...sspagenameZWDVW
^ super deal ^

Here ya go.

For the JDM, GT-four's 3sgte it seems to run 2500-3000 (for mint/perfect condition), although you could pillage an MR2's or one of the younger celica's for one, (minor work to make everything fit) You could get one of those for maybe 1500-2000... less if you have a local shop that's willing to part with one cheaper. You could always turbocharge you 5s-fe too. w/e.

Great. That price doesn't seem bad.

I have another question that I forgot to ask.
You mentioned that twin turbos are more likely to lag than singles.
Why? Is it because of the extra power needed for two turbos?

Also, I once heard a while back ago that twin turbos of course do lag, but that's why there is another to make up for it..? And that when finally both do kick in, the speed increase is drastic.
Sorry that sentence was worded weird. But I think you understand.
Is all this true?

okay...

Lets start at the beginning. The exhaust flows out of your engine, and gets one fan spinning, witch in-turn, spins the fan on the intake side... Now, If the engines exhaust gas isn't flowing fast enough to spin the fan with enough force to suck air on the other side, then you're in boost lag, because your engine is trying to suck in air thru all this piping and inter coolers and turbo's and so on... You engine is suffocating. Now as soon as there is enough exhaust flow to spin that fan, they you're hitting boost. Right? Right. Okay, now if you try to spin 2 fans with HALF as much power (because instead of 4 ports going to one fan, you now have "TWIN" turbo or a "DUAL" setup, witch is 2 ports to one turbo and 2 ports to the other), then theoretically it'll take 4 times as long/much power to get it spinning the speed in witch you're hitting boost. Right? Yeah. Now when it does finally kick in it's also going to build up PSI pressure twice as fast... But you'll be at like 6000RPM before that happens laugh.gif making it pretty much useless. Mind you you'll never be able to accelerate (more than inch-by inch) from a dead stop. Then you need to wonder if this engine can HANDLE that much boost when you finally get it going. Sure, you COULD build up some un-godly amount of pressure and force the fuel in it, but would it be a good IDEA? no. Sure, you COULD run 150PSI thru it, Would it last? Or would it launch a piston rod clear out of the other side? wink.gif

Re-read that HOWSTUFFWORKS.com article, and explore the other options.

EDITED: Remember i'm at work, so i fixed some of my bad spellings and elaborated on some un-explained ideals.
