I have a stock 94 Celica ST and I want to give it some more power. I've been looking into converiting the auto tranny to a 5 speed as well as upgrading the 7afe to a larger engine. money isn't really a issue but I'm looking at around $5,000 for the project. does anyone know a kit that works or what size engine would be best? thanks

If money's no option why a 5k budget? Becuse u are starting with a st chassis you will have to spend a little more for mounts and what not. 3s swap alone you will need around $5k to do it right the first time. Plus u need a s54 trans or a e153, if "money is no issue".

94 Celica st black DD (bad weather beater)- totaled deer
95 Celica gt silver- chassis sold
88 Celica All-Trac (Burned to a crisp)
94 Celica gt white (sold)

In need of a rust free chassis!!!!

v6 is a cheaper option as you can buy a donor car locally. look for a manual camryr v6 and theres ur engine and trans, wiring, afm, etc. just will need mounts, axles and shifter cables.

v6 can be done for 2.5-3k
3sgte will take 5k or so

cant do a 3VZ here in CA, since he has a 94 he has to use a 1MZ. Now for the OP, where in CA are you, im in the middle of a V6 swap right now and i can totally help you do yours.

v6 gives you a better bang for your buck, stock for stock, compared to a 3sgte swap, and the torque is instantly there... make sure you pair it with a e153!

with an e153 you will get better mpg and have a better power band as it was designed for the v6..

s54 will work but risk breaking it if you launch hard and higher cruising rpms = lower mpgs
