haha yea, i've already burned and shocked myself a bunch of times!
good stuff.
got a little practice today on some steel, no filler wire.
getting pretty good control of the torch, just need more time, and a bigger argon tank, this one is about done, pressure is under 500..lol
also figured out that i had assembled the torch with the cup in backwards. i dont think it was affecting anything, but at least now i can use more than just a #7 cup.
you guys using those gas saver cups? think i wanna try a setup here in the next couple weeks. i got a project to weld up for jims motor where im gonna need lots of stickout to reach down into a tight spot.

Remember the dark blue part is the only part that actualy cut's ****. so make that part large, while minimizing the rest, get the metal nice n red for a sec, and when you hit the OXY lever, keep it at an angle away from you, keep it close to your metal, and move it fast. that'll take a WHOLE lot of grind off your hands too!! lol. ****, look up a vid of that. when you see it, you'll understand.

As for the saver cups, No. i've used them, and i'm not a fan. it makes you cut slower, and i like the whip action cut. it's how i was taught and just my pref. if you get any good outta it lmk for my home setup though.

as for wanting to cut deep, take you a nice small rod, (3/32nd or so) and MAX the heat. it'll act just like a gouge, and save you some bucks. Plus you got that pin point precision, witch is something i've always like'd doing for real accurate cuts. You gotta kinda move the rod in and out like a saw a bit, but it's way more accurate at a distance than a torch will EVER be! Plus it wont fcuk anything else up in the process!

EDIT: get you a #12 or #12R lens BTW. you're going to kill your eyes with that....

Is that the one with the single wire? If so it's the coolant temp sensor. on some models there is one with a hose that determines water presure/amount; i cant see from the pic.

Remove and clean both O2 sensors...

I think one of them is front and center, more or less, behind the radiator but where is a second one?
Hopefully not what I'm thinking of. I noticed some sort of sensor down below (on the exhaust manifold?) in front of the passenger side firewall. Is that it?
Thanks

both are on the exhaust manifold. First one right behind the rad on the front of the engine. (two 10-12mm nuts to remove iirc) and the other is right past the catalitic converter. (15-16mm sensor grip iirc)

bitter's also got some valid point, and new plugs couldn't hurt either. if you're not getting it all burnt right or all pushed out then it'll recycle threw the EGR and cause that test to go outta whack. It'll also make you run a bit lean in the long run cause you're engine will think you've got too much fuel- but with lack of "good" oxy then you'll just loose HP. we dont have enough to spare!! hahah!

Remove and clean both O2 sensors. Should have lots of white crusty crap on em; remove. IDFK if it'll get you down 500pts, but it should help. If that dont work, Drive it out to the country (outside city/emissions limits) and have it inspected there laugh.gif

beside, you're not suppose to pay for someone to sponsor you. If they're going to sponsor you, they're doing it because they want their company (and parts) to be promoted.

isnt that were this so called agency kicks in?

just wondering, one of their 'promotions' is a 200 cash check in return for some promotions online, ill check it out if not i can always dispute the transaction

no.

let's make an example.

Say i swap in a 2jzgtte into Rei-Ohkie; and powerhouse the dog-doodoo outta it, and run the AWD conversion. I'll have awesome track times right? So Greddy get's wind of this, and comes to me, and says "hey, I'll get you some free/cheap Greddy turbos to promote us, Because you have the fastest 6th gen celica i've ever seen"

So Greddy would turn up a contract, that MADE me put their swagger all over my beautiful car, in return i get 2 free turbochargers.

So let's continue pretending, and say i'd put that crap all over my beautiful car in exchange of a few thousand dollars (RETAIL price) worth of crap. Let's say i want to make moar moneys....

I call greddy up, and say "hey guys, i wanna get a promoton check". So they'll load my car full of OTHER name-showing crap, and have me attend a carshow, and open my car up to the general public (so all these filthy fcuking dirty people can get in my car and touch my schett) while i hand out keychains and work a "greddy booth" promoting the "greddy" like of products. Claiming it's the greatest crap sense i lost my virginity.

For the entire saturday i'll only make like 200 bucks or so...

Now i've already spent over 40K with the custom framework and super-sajin 2jz, not to mention all the money spent on body kits and lambo doors so that people would come and drool on my car; and have gained 2 turbos (retail 700-900/ea) and $200.... So i've almost gotten 2K bucks, and this is a minimum of 6months to a year from the time the car is running 4 second 1/4's (realistically)

It'd be easier to just go get a job working in a machine shop for greddy... Make moar money that way....

I'll tell you what, i'll teach you to weld/fitt and read diagrams, and you go apply for a job as a fitter. same thing i do for a living, except you'll fit car parts instead of offshore oil rig parts.

lol, Sry bro. you're getting ripped and your info is being sold to diet-pill-pyramid schemers and the like.

In order to get sponsored, You've pretty much gotta have some gawd-amazing setup, and they'll approach you. You dont get sponsored for having a blown engine sitting in a driveway for a few months ;p

anyway, i'd pull your info as fast as possible and enable your SPAM blockers on your e-mail. Oh and when you get those "offers" for "Special Pricing" because you're a "sponsored Member", Remember your special price is +25%. laugh.gif

a good rule of thumb when buying parts and getting real hookups, They're usualy CASH deals, and you likely know the seller; Opposed to giving your info to some faceless website, and reciving an automated e-mail saying so....

i'm out. work half day (new job cause of layoff- cant ask for days off this early in the game) then rest of day is dedicated to Rei-Ohkie. (stoopid legal crap- it's all paperwork. FTL)

MALHAR- Remove spark plugs - cover area with weighted rags- Disconect fuel pump fuse. Crank it over gently. just for a sec. this will blow out the fuel buildup and delete your flood lock.

Replace sparkplugs and FP fuse, Start her up. Drive.

As a professional welder: I recommend ANYTHING! lol.

any kind of spray primer is my #1 choice unless it's going to be exposed to overheated conditions- in witch point I'd use galvanize or high temp paint. Rust is simply the decomposition of metals by bonding with water and oxygen. Deny the two culprits from exposure and [/problem]

sh!t- Playdough would work if applied tight enough. lol. For that fact- so would vegetable oil.... spray adheisive, clear coating, ect. Somethings last longer than others though.... just sayin...

btw- **** is really starting to look foward for me. (though i probably just jinxed myself)

so we can think about expecting my ugly ass vert to show after all this time of sitting. with anyluck featuring 100% moar D-Topicpolourathaglastic resisns biggrin.gif (my own personal home brew- ask matt- he's kicked it! and it didn't budge)

apparently someone has bashed in my bumper... again. mad.gif

EDIT: D-Topicapolyourathaglastic.

how could i misspell a word; that I myself invented? confused.gif

how much would you charge for a gallon of this magic resin? smile.gif

IDK... never sold it... lol.

uh... if i did cost plus a small percentage for my efforts- i see no reason it'd ever exceed hundred. Prly 60-80 depending on packaging and mixing materials? With directions and independent catalyst... i guess...

it's a method of Topicaly (or throughout) bonding polyurethane with a fiberglass mixture (designed to adhere to polyurethane) to repair stock bumpers n stuff. Honestly i found some materials that disintegrate Poly-U (that has a short lifetime of activity- before turning into some rock hard material that is about 3%larger in size after it dries & deactivates) and a bad ass adheisive that bonds to both poly and fg; mixed together with fiberglass resins and applied with a 4th and 5th chemical to get the biggest bang. 4 years it hasn't budged- and has been put to the test. (meaning i may or may not have ran into some ****- Plus a few boots have came at it looking to test it's operability. thebolt holes in the bumper have given wear and way; where's my patches haven't even sliped a hair) it's sandable, cleanable, and paintable.

i never figured there'd be a market for my mad science. HAHAH!!

Toyota has confirmed at that Geneva Motor Show that its FT-86 II Concept will become a production car in 2012. What will be the long-awaited replacement for the Toyota Celica, marks a return to sports cars for Toyota which in the past was well known for models like the MR-2.

WHAAAAT!??!?!?!!?

does this mean it'll be badged as a Celica or badged as an FT-86- Creating it's own lineage into the Toyota family? Rumors also soar that it's going to be badged as a Scion....

and only a Normal operating temp? It's for sure comming outta the belt area? could be some of the componet bearings.

Seems likely... Previous owners sound like they didn't know what "maintenance" meant. I'm just fixing things as they break. The belts are good. And yeah, it's definitely coming from that area and only at nominal temp, which means about 750-900rpm

Try to zero in to a certin part. if you can find it down to be the alt/PS pump/ect. then you got a sold ground to stand on. ANY Click nose comes with a Vibration. Just a first though. (it's how i do it)

worse case- Gimmie call. You got my new number still, yeah? I'll help you out man.
