Hello my name is Teo and this is my Celica. My focus is on audio and interior/exterior changes. Hope you enjoy.
7a-fe running on LPG, the rims are 16" OZ Superleggeras
I found a suitable hole to run the 0ga through the passengers side firewall. But my battery is on the drivers side. As I knew I will be upgrading my stock wire I decided to avoid running such a thick wire across the engine bay and connect it straight to the alternator. One little thing- the alternator positive bolt was a little bit short for the ring terminals at the same time. Went and bought this "tube" that is threaded on the inside.
Terminal for 0ga, washer, "tube" thingy, 5ga going from alternator + to battery +
Back seats be gone!
Falls floor done with multiple pieces to save on material. Practically zero spend on it.
Carpet
The box - 1.75 cub feet, kerfed port @ 32, 1.5 inch plywood walls
Port painted in white satin
1.75 walls
Bad ass terminals
Sub - Sundown Audio SA-12 , Amp SAZ-1500D
Each door will have a single 10" Neopro in a ported plywood enclosure tuned to around 60Hz. Adding fiberglass for even more strength.
Plywood
Door inner cover and front baffle for the enclosure.
Flushed driver
Big hole for the enclosure. Door will be covered in suede.
Port
Assembly
The flush weakened the baffle, so I added two pieces at the back of it for strength.
After the glue dries I will cut it out again.
Attention to details. Even tho it won't make a significant difference the piece was rounded over.
This piece is kinda of a brake point for the to separate, so called sections of the enclosure.
And the round over is here
8 clamps and left to dry.
Cut them up to save some space in the front by doing some relocations.
Glued back on
Fiberglassed the original panel to the ported enclosures
Covered some parts of the wood and fiberglass with foam for a softer feel when I cover them up.
Rice
Old and ugly gear ball
New
I bought the car with the original steering replaced with a MOMO RACE and decided to keep it. The leather was in bad shape tho so:
Test piece
Before
What happens when your hands are slightly wet -_-
Making holes, no thread in the needle
First piece done
Making a pattern for the more complex shapes
Connection stitch with black thread. It will be will be touched more, and if it was white, after a while it was bound to get dirty.
The finished product of my imagination
Overall I am very please with the result. It took me around 20-24 hours of hand work, measuring, cutting, using the sewing machine, making patterns, failures, stitching.
Used : white and black polyester thread, real leather from some dead animal, scissors, shaving blade, 3 needles, glue.
*optional : patience, good taste, the internet
Wow! Great job on that steering wheel!
I seriously need to do that..*have* some one do that to for me haha
Excellent job on that steering wheel, must be rewarding to handle your own craftsmanship daily.
Very nice, on everything!
Liking the sound setup as well.
I thought I had patience with projects but all that detail..
Wow! Yeah that steering wheel looks professional, nice job! Looks like you have a nice setup for woodworking too!
I love seeing different things like this. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, all
I am currently doing 141.7dB at 35Hz. But there is a competition in a month and I am hoping for a slightly higher result.
And I have an 18 inch subwoofer shipping later this year.
Awesome build dude
It's the small things.
Headliner bulbs changed to LED SMD's
I had a 1 meter/60 LED's strip which I cut from. Soldered and used the 3M tape on the back to attach to the inside. It was a bit time consuming, but I decided to not waste my time looking for bulbs and save some money. Under $1 upgrade.
This was shot in complete darkness with no flash, the LEDs are the only light source.
Next thing I did was use the same LED strip and do my license plate light.
And even more lights. This is a Ultraviolet neon. You can hardy see it at day and night, but add some white to it and the effect is there. Cool with white shoes or laces.
Teaser on what I've been working on.
Interesting concept with the chairs... I haven't seen it don't like that before; can't wait to see how it turns out
I love your work on the steering wheel too; looks plush
That's a great idea, Aston Martin did it, I believe.
Thanks guys.
I've got quite a few interior ideas from Lamborghini.
Couldn't resist posting my unfinished project
How would you guys like a white Toyota emblem on that headrest?
Some seriously nice work on the wheel man, impressive door setup as well. Patience is a virtue!
love the steering wheel and the seats are looking so unique and cool.
I'm not much for sound and don't know much but what you're doing is right on the money too.
Thanks, cheela.
Promised pictures
Drag style , no back seat and seat belts, no passenger seat, no cards on both doors, no spare.
Stock vs Custom
Really love the pattern and material that you did for the seat cover, it looks great! Personally I would have kept the separated headrest but that's really just a matter of opinion. Is there a reason that the material looks "looser" than the factory seat? Did you reuse the metal bars from the factory cover and stitch them into the underside of your covers and staple them back to the foam?
Аppreciate the words. I certainly am learning some stuff and want to make it into a profession one day. What a better way than my own car.
Finally :
Some minor things to be touched up, but this gives you an idea how it will look. The material is the same as the seats, kinda feels like suede.
Port will be painted black, a grill will be made. One more door to go...5 days to competition!
I think this is some of the best interior craftsman ship I've ever seen, that is crazy cool dude. Keep up the good work and good luck!
I wish I was half as talented as you are with craftsmanship... Your work makes my craftsmanship look like a 2 year olds HAHAHAA
Amazing job dude Keep it up
Thanks, fellas.
More pictures of the doors:
Wires that go on the in and outside of the doors for speaker connection.
Soldered
Heat-shrink
A bit bulky for my taste, but must sound proper. The seat design is fantastic.
Shift boot cover. It was bare wood for a while, but is now the same as the doors.
Random from after party at a SPL competition
Wow, you've achieved quite some work here.
I think its really interesting that your car runs on LPG! can you give more information about how you converted the car to LPG?
nice work on all you've done.
Several weeks ago after a good wash the last thing I wanted was to hit a wall while backing up. Well it happen and things snowballed from there.
The damage was much worse, but this is after some hammering.
Before I start shaving
After a few days of welding, putty, sanding and paint this is what I ended up with.
Gas tank cover gone
Shaved the emblem and third brake light.
Damage and LPG cover are gone
Washer and wiper blade gone too.
If you see some color difference, well the paint is 16y old, and I am going from gloss to matte white.
Blacked out my tails
Nice and glossy
There used to be a gas tank cover and 3 damaged places, used to
Thinking about painting the middle/license panel black too for a long line of darkness.
Photo was taken with no flash, stop light test for visibility.
Blinkers too. You can see it pretty good considering how black they are.
I also rolled my fenders while I was at it.
So, things I shaved : gas tank cover, wiper blade, washer, all emblems in the back, third brake light, LPG cover.
Things to shave : door handles, front fender blinkers, front windshield washers, hood spoiler.
Well done.
A small (99 photos) photoshoot I did tonight. Only 9 survived the cut.
White Adidas + UV light
Recently I decided to put blinkers in my side mirrors. I think it will look great and make the car appear a bit more up to date, so to speak.
Just a teaser with a random piece of plexi put in place.
Nice! You and I have similar tastes.. ^That is something I've wanted to do that for awhile now.
Looks great! would like to see a night pic.
Bring on the pics when its working - great job for actually following through!!!
I don't expect The_enD to post today, he should be out doing high-speed runs.

Looking for some opinions, guys. I want one nice and long line of non disrupted light, but it seems impossible to achieve with LEDs, there are always spots. I might settle down to a bunch of LEDs pack tightly, like in this test piece bellow.
Edit : Would look something like this(the orange one), I think it will be nice.
That would look nice
if you wanted a continuous light I would be looking into EL strip / wire
While I am waiting on LEDs to be shipped.
Holy rock chips. 100+
Also shaving the hood spoiler and window washers.
I remember something that was done in the not so distant past for angel eyes. They used to put a led into an acrylic tube. The light would evenly distribute thoughout the tube and appear as if it was nowadays' CCFL halo eyes or whatever you call them.
I remember that the only issue is it working at daytime in a not-so-efficient manner because a single LED is just not bright enough, but that was the case with halos. Give that you're using a thicker strip, you could get it to work. Here's a description:
"[...]
Essentially, they take arcrylic rods that are used with window blinds, heat and bend them, notch them with a dremel, and put a LED in each side.
The biggest issue is the collimation of the beam, and trying to make the end of the rod fit the LED snugly and perfectly clearly. I think someone suggested clear nail polish between the two. You want all of the light from the LED to go into the rod in a roughly narrow pattern. Best to use relatively high-power LEDs (not 5mm 20mA crap, at least get a 4-chip or 5-chip Cree or Superflux)"
Thanks for the info, Syaoran.
I've been doing more shaving and body work recently.
No more spoiler and washers
A lot of rock damage, About 100+
Fiberglass putty
Normal putty
Prepped the roof as well. I'll post pictures of it later. It's mad!
Washed the 16y old dirt
Done
I also converted the climate control unit to all white LED SMD.
New paint combo, sorry for the not so good phone pictures, my camera broke.
Nice!
Thanks, guys.
I made some progress on the mirrors.
And a video:
http://youtu.be/pq5-lO0-P6c
mass produce them and sell them to us! lol
love the new look with the paint. very clean.
D-d-d-damn... Holy **** man..
Outstanding all around! The doors are the only thing I wouldn't do on mine, but I see why you did it, and it was done very well!
Wild paint job on the top. Very unique ride, fo sho..
SIX THUMBS UP!
nice progress mate.
keep it up.
Not really very big on the two tone paint jobs but that pic at an angle showing the roof may have just changed my mind
Keep it up looks great
Thank you all for the positive feedback. In a way it keeps me motivated to do more and more. Wont post any details, but I have some crazy stuff in my mind that will amaze many. It's all about money tho.
Anywho, painted the mirrors today, I will mount and wire them tomorrow. If I get my camera back from the repair guy I will shoot pictures and somebody wanted a video in the night.
Nice job on those mirrors! I really like the custom work you've put into the car and all the little touches. I can only imagine how many hours you have invested.
Nice job
This celica is beautiful! That sound system is sick.
Finally got my camera fixed.
And a video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOaYu8mQn28
And the roof
Finished my LED speedometer conversion. 50 LEDs, lots of time spend soldering, gluing and wondering wtf to do.
Before
After
wow! looks awesome! got any pics of how you set that up?
Do mine next!
Did you polish off that greenish colour? I have bright white LEDs inside, but no matter how bright, its always a bit green
wow, thanks for that, and just in time as I've got the gauge cluster apart
My color combination in particular or in general - black top + stock color?
The white and black makes for such a strong contrast, yet it's still classy. I think it'd also work for darker colours. I thought about doing it with mine, but I think the bright red and black would be too drastic.
It looks like an angry scarab.
.....
So I just read through this whole forum, and I must say I love what you have done to your car its too legit. keep up the great work!
Hey, thanks.
I might have an update for you guys, since I haven't done much to the car lately.
I sold my 12" subwoofer box, but an 18" is on it's way. Then I'll start on the wall and rollcage.
You've done such great work you've made me love mods that are not my cup of tea. WELL DONE!
The car is sooooo sexyy
Btw, this is the hottest speedometer I've ever seen o_O Simple yet so clean and fresh!
I want mine like this ^^
Amazing, how did you paint the trim pieces on the inside I'm about to do mine and was wondering what kind of paint do I need to use and do I sand or not because of the chance of it not being even anymore since they're already so thin pieces?
I painted mine with metallic black, it's subtle and classy. There are some pictures in my project thread.
Thanks, dude.
Oh, it's on. Received my 18 inch sub.
FIND ALL THE LOOSE PANELS!!!
Working on walling off the Celica.
That is crazy.
That should be installed in an SUV, not a Celica !
If I didn't see that gigantic woofer a few posts up, I'd ask why are you installing a picnic grill in your Celica (because of that gas tank)
Gotta have that mobile party starter.
More work
Wow.
how much does that thing weigh?
The steel cage is around 19-20 kilograms.
With the wood added it goes to around 40 kg. With the subwoofer it will be 60 (132lbs). That is less than my weight.
It will be kinda like I always have a passenger with me, tho I have no back seat and other stuff. Let's say a skinny cute chick
yup, a very loud skinny chick....
How is the box secured to the car. Will u be bolting it to the car? Reason i ask cuz it just hit me in a sudden brake or collision it might hurt u if it displaces forward. Otherwise i cant wait for it to see how it sounds
I've made five metal bracket that bolt onto the car's stock bolt locations, which are reveled after you remove the seats. Then they bolt onto the cage.
I'll also make a custom strut bar that will connect both side of the suspension tops (obviously) and the back side of the cage.
Roughly cut out the port with the jigsaw
Then I used the router to straighten everything up
Rounded over with a different bit for a nice air flow
These grooves are very narrow and several mm deep. When I go ahead and cover the whole thing, the fabric it will be cut and pushed inside the grooves for a nice, flush look.
Placed the subwoofer for the first time and predrilled the mounting holes. The strings are there to help me get it out as it's very hard to lift a 20kg sub when it is flush mounted on the box
It is in, guys, woohoo!
Wire terminals
Painted the port white, it just needs one more layer.
That looks frightening
Definitely not for me, as I usually leave the music too loud as I exit the car, and have a heart attack next time I turn the ignition... This would probably put me in a coma
Holy ****snacks, I didn't think you'd be facing it forward. That's a lot of bass cannon.
That's the meaning of a wall off
Custom white stitching to match my interior
I guess nobody else likes bass cannon? I like bass cannon, nice stitching.
Now the real question is...what's the first song you'll try on it? I suppose not a very bassy one, or at least very low volume, since the sub has to break in.
I guess I wont be needing this anymore.
thats pretty impressive. laughed at your mirror comment as well
Let's say it's pretty effing loud
My head still hurts, but it was so worth it. That's what happens when I don't listen to bass for 3 months tho. I need a few more days to readjust.
That is some really good job you did. Really impressive! Keep up the good work
omg
nice job mate.
I noticed a gas balloon on your celica. Is your celi working on a gas?
I still can't imagine the immense pressure wave right by your dome. I don't mind feeling bass and hearing it, but that must be pain-inducing at times.
My new gauge cluster. 20 different colors controlled via a remote. Red needles. Redline stays red no matter the color. Adjustable brightness.
Wow, that is cool. Awesome work
If my cluster looks weird it's because I made pods for it :
I just put 1 12" in my car, and it is way too much at full tilt. I can only imagine how loud your setup is.
Neat, neat stuff. That cluster is something I've always wanted, I don't stand for blatant imitation but that setup reminds of the 911, and that's just not necessarily a wrong thing. Celica is a sports car.
Thanks, guys.
It'd be really cool, and distracting, if there was a cycle mode for the colours.
$100 shipped back to you for 20 color, $80 for dual color (digits+needles). Shipping your cluster to me is on you.
Using slim, everything is nice and cozy inside, simple plug and play.
I'd be busy oohing and ahhing at the colours. My radio can cycle colours in time with music, terribly distracting at night.
Not working on the Celica any longer as I plan on selling her.
Still a small update. Got my speedometer to work with WiFi, so I control all the color with my phone now. Also made a bit different bezel this time.

you should have used MDF fiber board its more dense than plywood. And sounds alot nicer!!
The box - 1.75 cub feet, kerfed port @ 32, 1.5 inch plywood walls
