thanks for the clarification thumbsup.gif

how about those gas stations that say their fuel has up to 10% ethanol... I remember reading in the owner's manual for my old 98 GT that it was ok...do you know if this would be harmful to a GT-Four even if it's "premium" gasoline?

That thing is beautiful...it's like a newborn baby with the fresh white paint, that was a good move getting it painted. Gorgeous.

What's up with the reflector/indicator under the tails though? Never seen that before.

for it to be registered in BC Canada, jdm imports have to have permanent and working side markers in the front and rears. Kinda pointless I think since tail lights are sufficient. O well. Too much work to remove. Bondo the hole and repaint.

Actually, I was just thinking that...if you were going to repaint anyway, I would've shaved those side markers, the antenna, and the rear wiper and sprayer nozzle.

ya i considered it but o well hahaha...i don't mind them...yet...lol....antenna...ya i shoulda but that would mean more work and longer wait time...hahaha
i actually find the rear wipers really useful...when i drive other cars that don't have them it's kinda annoying lol

Ethanol is known to eat rubber (fuel hoses) and clog fuel filters and injectors with petrol residue as alcohol is a solvent.

I can't really comment on the use of it as I've never used it long-term, but I've never had a problem with using it every odd fill with my other Celicas.

However as this is a big unknown for me, I refuse to put a drop of it in my GT4, never have never will. Even though 10% is negligible.

Performance wise on the stock ECU it might be a bonus because the GT4 runs pig rich and ethanol has an oxygen component in it so it would be closer to optimum air-fuel ratio for power

What is that bodykit btw? Is there a front lip to go with it or is it for ST202/4 ?

It is pretty useful...but still, I think it looks cleaner without. I do notice that the rear wiper is really useful to clear morning condensation when it's cooler out.

Did the car have those markers under the tail lights in the video? I don't recall seeing them in the video, but they were there afterwards when you got pictures of it. Oh well, the car is sexy with or without them!

Lol I meant I didn't see them in the video that was posted, asking if it was the same car. Before it got fresh paint and all that stuff. I saw where he said he had to have them to make the car legal, so I guess the were installed before paint.

This is a picture of Schmooot's engine that i asked to borrow

Just a quick question. The thing I circled in green is the top mount intercooler...is there a reason why it's covered? The 3sgte engines for 5th gens have it exposed....

Also, the duct I circled in red is missing from my engine (refer to pics on 1st page)...where does that lead to?...should i get it asap?

Thanks

its a water to air intercooler. most top mounts get air scooped at them.. whereas on gt4 the bonnet vent vacuumes out hot air rather than scooping cold air in. the water to air intercooler is sealed full of coolant and has an extra radiator for it infront of the 2 other radiators (3 radiators in total) the middle rad is an oil cooler i think.

the thing u circled red is a duct from the little round scoop next to the vent, it goes to the cambelt to cool it down (a remnant of rallying, but still fully functional)

Thanks for the input...I put it in my other celica too and didn't run into any problems...I'll consider trying it...

The kit is a Eurou one...missing the front lip though....maybe if i save up more money i'll look into that..but for now I should look into maintenance...

I'm not sure if the timing belt or water pump has been changed yet (do you know the part numbers for those). I will probably do oil change, oil filter, spark plugs, cap, distributor, and put in some fuel injector cleaner into my gas.

Thanks again for the info. Ya I'm missing that duct...is it important that I get it?
