Hey guys this might be too little too late to get any action from anyone, but its worth a try.
I have come into possession of a 1997 Celica SL Limited Edition (sadly its automatic too haha).

Before i get into what im going to do i want everyone to know that money is not an issue, i am getting paid well and am really pumped to start this project, so i dont need to hear about how stupid it is monetarily. Also i have access to friends that are quite skilled with welding and fabbing that are all supportive and want to help with this.

So i want to swap a 2JZ-GTE in and make it rear wheel. Im not looking to go the turbo route, but i am hoping to have at least the engine, trans and rear diff/axle from supra and maybe anything else i can make due with if possible

I would love any tips and hurdles that i may come accross throughout this project and anything that may make any part of this any smoother!

Things like the following but not secluded to:
1. cutting for the new trans tunnel
2. Is there already room for a driveshaft to fit or will i have to cut for that as well
3.Someone told me that the GT-Four subframe will bolt right up and make room for the rear diff is this true?
4. What of the interior will i have to change to make things keep looking clean and together and not disheveled
5. Should i just go with a supra ecu, or is there something else i should be looking at?

And anything else anyone can think of

Thanks for any and all help!

Prop tunnel is there until you get to rear seats where the gas tank lives on non-GT4 models. Everything back from that point will not work for you.
No, GT4 subframe will not bolt in - mounting points are totally different. If you remove the stock fuel tank you can make an adapter to bolt to stock FWD rear subframe mounting points and provide mounting points for AWD rear diff. But, given that you'll have to do lots of custom fab work, might as well chop up the floor plan and make your own mounts.
Supra ECU will work if you're fine with it. Lots of aftermarket options if you want more tuning flexibility.

Not sure how well your interior will survive - you'll have to cut a pretty big opening for RWD gearbox. Also, you'll either have to cut out the spare wheel well and drop a fuel cell in there if you want it to hide, otherwise it's gonna have to go in the trunk. Lot's of custom work if you want the interior to look stock-ish.

This is not a project for the faint of heart, but doable if you've got the skills and a decent welding machine.

How good do you want to look? or not?

If Money is not an issue and you want a 1JZ, get a JZA70, youll love it.

However, there is a guy that placed a RWD 3SGTE. You may want to look in his thread.

Only issue you will have, is space. Not quite sure the JZ will fit in the engine bay space, unless you push it back, and modify firewall. its a big long block, and will rob into your radiator space.

and whatever else slavie said.
