Hi all, new to the forums. I'm currently in Okinawa Japan, and importing anything from here to the states is friggin' expensive, so I decided to try something different. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that the Toyota Celica, and Curren (year specific 94-99ish???) are almost the same car. The only exterrior differences are the entire front clilp, and the rear window/trunk/hatch. What I'm thinking of doing as long as they are all interchangable, is bring back an entire Curren front clip(front bodykit, aftermarket headlights, fenders and hood) and put 'em on a Celica, but only if they're interchangable. I believe Currens were only made in the mid 90's, I doubt if there are any other generations. I've only seen the single exact same gen of Curren in the 2 years that I've been here. Everything about the 2 are soooo close, I hope these brothers can share biggrin.gif If anyone has any knowledge on this, or just wants to put their 2 cents in, please feel free to:D Thanx in advance,

Robert

Word on the street is you have to swap your core support with the Curren's and weld it in. Not a bolt on job, IMO. I'd have a body shop do it, because if you don't line things up perfect, or you warp the metal when you weld it, you'll have gaps.

Check your weight limits...you can ship it as household goods but if you go over the weight limit, they're gonna charge you by every extra pound. Let me guess...you're a marine, correct? tongue.gif

the curren is basically a 6th gen COUPE celica with a different front end and, for us in the states, different engines. if you swap the front end(front bumper, fenders, hood, lights, etc) to your celica, it'll look just like a curren and u wont be able to tell that it used to be a celica. you have to change the core support. there will be some cutting and welding involved. once that's done, the headlights and the other front end body pieces will bolt on, no problem. goodluck. i would also have a body shop do it cuz i suck at welding. lol. i have a friend of mine in okinawa, hes a marine, name's gary. hope everythings good over there bro. keep us posted.

everything is a swap, but u do need the currens front core support, and it needs to be welded on! bodyshop can do it. Also ConSynX is selling all the peices for a currn front swap. (lights, bodypannels, hood, even the front core support) PM him, he still has it, hes located in PA.

yea. consynx has it. he has it at an awesome price too... just give him your arm and your leg and you should be set. you're probably better off getting a front clip when you get back to the states because that'll run you anywhere from 1000-3000 shipped and then you can sell the engine when youre done or even swap the engine in your celi. they come with either a 4sfe,3sfe, or 3sge. buying just the body parts online will cost shipped somewhere around 4500. so you're better off with the front clip if ure serious about it.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.
