the axle problem you have, is because when they rebuild them, they put a generic circlip, wich is crap. order the right circlip from the dealer and change it. I swear that i did that with mine. and the oem circlip goes in like butter

You were right, its the circlip. I simply removed it to confirm the shop didn't put in the wrong axle bearing in the transmission. Went right in with the clip off. Guess I could order one.

The circlip that came with the axle I could remove with my fingers, it was barely on there. So I think it was snagged in production and expanded it out to far.

Nah, trying to put a new one in. Just won't line up and pop in.

Oh, you got the hard part done! It sounds like only a serious day's work away from drivable.

Lol, possibly, drivable as in it'll turn on and run, but there is quite a bit to accomplish after further review. Hoping for a cool night this weekend, and I'm going to try to get the walbro installed, not really a hard task or that physical. One more step to running.

Some interest has been found, but most people are a month or more out from seeing/purchasing. So, I'm cleaning it up, at a minimal, if all fall through, it'll be clean...possibly less overbearing to look at.

keep going at it. aftermarket circlips suck..

dedicate 30 min every two days. stop reading facebook in the toilet, and work on the car.

hate for you to regret it. unfortunately i had a mistake on my own. see the off topic section, but im using it as a postive experience..

Taking nccmd2002's advice, I spent some time on it this weekend before the sun made it a bit to hot to be outside.

Had to clean the interior out a good bit to get to the fuel pump area. So managed to clean out the whole inside of any debris & parts over the years.

Being in FL, and humid nearly 24/7, the whole interior grew this very thin layer of mold all over. So I spend the whole hour and half I was at it wiping down everything and vacuuming out everything, including inside the pump section so nothing drops in the tank.

All in all, its a bit cleaner inside, and slightly less overbearing to look at wink.gif

I’m familiar with the mold growing inside the car. Gotta love humidity and parked Celicas. You’ll have this off on the road in no time!
