Or maybe it's already been done, he had to get it home somehow right? tongue.gif I still think if I had a choice between a MKIV Supra TT, a FD RX-7, a NSX, a Z32 300ZX TT, or a 3000GT VR4 for free with cash added to the lesser ones so monetary value was of no factor I'd go with the RX-7. Then when the 13B exploded I can use the leftover money for a LS swap. laugh.gif

Nah, no LS swaps. The car's owner is a big rotary guy and knows them inside and out, so he'll only ever have minimal issues with the car. Is just impossible to resist a photo opportunity when there's a Supra and FD in your garage.

You have to know them inside and out, cause you're always fixing them!

Making us think you were rich, having a MKIV AND a FD. Part of me would feel inclined to keep a RX-7 rotary powered, I think a FD or FC with a 20B from a Cosmo would be a lot of fun so long as it was working.

Nah, I'm broke. I just live off of whatever allowance the wife gives me, which certainly isn't enough for an FD.

I'm not sure if I'd want a Mustang so close to the Supra and RX-7, it'll start doing a burnout on its own and crash into them given enough time. laugh.gif

Replaced the broken headlamp support cable on the driver side, no more headlight wobble. Didn't really wobble that bad without it, but it was enough to bother my OCD self. Tried looking for a premade replacement to no avail so ended up making my own with some braided 1/16" steel cable and some crimps. The factory one was riveted into the core support so I ran mine to an easy enough to access bolt in the core support to use as an anchoring point. Best of all it was like under $2 in materials, so woo.

The Mustang is just there to donate a Coyote to the RX7.

Tonight I got back underneath the MR2 for the first time in quite a while. I'm fairly certain the thermostat is stuck closed and I found that one of the trailing arm bushings is pretty well done for, which explains why the rear end wants to sway all over the road from time to time. Thanks to Dustin for pointing me in the right direction on that one. thumbsup.gif

It needs to be said that my motivation for working on this rust bucket of an MR2 comes from dropping a 5S out of a friend's MR2 over the weekend. His has less rust than mine, yet somehow managed to be a bigger pain to work on. We were planning to have the engine dropped on Saturday then roll the car out of the garage to park the FD back inside for the night. However, we ran into some serious rust on the subframe bolts and a few other places so we didn't drop the engine until Sunday morning, which is how I ended up with an FD in my garage for the night.

Ironically, it developed problems on the way over to my house. The owner, as I've mentioned, is a huge rotary guy. He's had several FC's, daily drives an RX8, and picked up the FD last year. Both the RX7 and RX8 see road races, but the FD has had an issue with the sequential twins spooling properly. He started the car to bring over to my garage and suddenly the turbos were spoiling beautifully and the car was making great power, but with that came steam from somewhere in the engine bay, as well as the tach and speedo mysteriously not working. Gotta love working with 20+ year old Japanese tin.

This was actually at Royal Purple Raceway on Saturday for the Tx2k event rather than today, but better late than nevar.

You're checking out Alex's meat without inviting him to come try your butt?
