big no no, right there. that yellow strap is going to break the connector off the vvti sensor, please be careful, they are expensive and hard to look for,

These engines are very nice to drive. i love mine, but i cant keep two cars. lol

its not hard to swap em in. good luck...

Oh thanks for telling me about that strap i just re-positioned the straps so no connectors are near any of the straps.

I'll probably be on here a lot know that I'm doing this swap asking a lot of questions and looking for any advise that anyone has to give.

Thanks again.

Nice choice - I want to get a BEAMS when my state allows me.

Can we see some pics of the car about to be swapped? smile.gif

Throttle position sensor is broken. That'll set you back about $50 for a brand new one, part number 89452-02020. Looks like the wiring and a few other things will need some attention but should be a fun project. thumbsup.gif

I want to know too. I spun a bearing in mine, a 99 Celica, and I can buy the upgrade. I don't know what else I will need to complete the swap. I can buy the engine and transmission complete with the harness. What else will I need?

You'll need the engine, uncut engine harness, b-pipe and stock airbox.

We need more information. Is your car a GT or ST? Auto or manual? I have a writeup in the stickied that will be very useful for getting you started in the right direction.

Do you have everything plugged in down by the ECU? There's 3 plugs that go to the dash harness. You shouldn't be having any issues.
