6G Celicas Forums _ My Project _ Project Celica SX6

Posted by: CelicaSX6 Jan 20, 2018 - 7:12 PM

Hey there, so this is the start of a journey that begun over a year ago (but was kept on haiatus albeit)
Basically, I am turning my Aussie Delivered 1997 SX Celica into an 'SX6', basically the SSIII body with a 1MZ-FE fwd, an option that sadly wasn't offered as factory.

MODS SO FAR:

PROBABLE MODS:

I have a lot of research to do but I have seen a completed 1MZ Celica and it was a total rocket. I have the money to proceed, I just need to make it happen!

1MZ-GE? Is that w/ a 3SGE head or something? I've never heard of that term before.
Unless there's a special GE head for the 1MZ I thought all that existed are the FE heads.

I guess it's possible someone has made "GE" style heads for the 1MZ, but as far as from the factory goes there was only the 1MZ-FE. In fact I think all of the V6 have had FE heads and none with GE heads. Same goes for their V8 engines aside from the 2UR-GSE.

there is no such thing. he is probably making a typo. its a 1MZ-FE PERIOD!

I have done this swap a few times now, i have details in the project section

Hey m8, thanks for asking.
Been very busy with work etc and my GF's sister is having a wedding overseas, so there's a lot of other things to consider right now
Updating soon.

Will have an update soon, life has gotten in the way.
Finding a 1mz with low enough kms is proving time consuming.

Have you thought of seeing if a 3mz is open too? I think you can run a 3mz on 1mz electronics; but you'll be missing out on one or two things.
Or just somehow find a 2gr haha.
