so this finally hit 6gc.net? lol

nice work.

sound clip of the motor with cutout open is required.
You might just take back the loudest exaust trophy from Derek's Supercharged is300... if it counts...the car techinically has an exaust on it...

I only vaguely remember Derek's exhaust but I think Shannon's 5SFTE dump tube is louder than Dustin's cutout... IMO anyway.. maybe Shannon's just sounds more violent and less directed

and some info for others.
when I got the motor I needed to replace some things.

One of the first things I did was get some 3rd gen part #s from MR2OC
I then contacted my local toyota dealer, Jeff Watson from Toyotaworld, and kbox.ca for parts.
Toyotaworld was slow to get things ordered/shipped so many things I was able to get from my local dealer and from kbox.

I expected to replace many gaskets/o-rings ect (and did) to get the motor freshened up so having the full gasket set was very nice to have. All of the tune up and replacement parts I needed I was able to source from the places I listed and some used parts from some UK/overseas guys.

Also, I ordered the wire set from toyota (MR2 part#) and the coil wire was too short. I ended up using the coil wire from a cali spec US GT celica.

some tranny info

The 2000 e153 I bought from a junkyard (used parts dealer) locally and the MR2 turbo axles I was able to get used from MR2OC. The All-Trac axles I was able to get from another local 5th gen owner/member.

One funny thing about my tranny/axle combo was my driver's side axle popped out on the first test drive. After trying to get it to "pop" into the tranny we realized that my 2000 tranny was a bit different than the earlier ones that other members use. The space from the end of the axle to the snap ring was shorter in the tranny (I would assume) than the earlier e153s so I have to shave (machined) off the tip of my axle to make it fit properly.

here's a pic of the MR2 inner and a normal celica/alltrac inner side by side.

I had to make the top one (MR2) look like the bottom one (celica) so the snap ring would catch in the tranny. Since then, NO probs with the driver's side.

also, I had orderded a new nameplate ("T" 2000 twin entry turbo) for the IC, part # 11286-88480 and once the swap was finished it was the finishing touch putting that on smile.gif

as i said before, good job to you and to the people that helped.. this is a good example of how swaps should be done.. i'm curious to know where exactly on the firewall you cut to fit the engine harness? did you use the same rubber grommet from the original harness on the firewall?

..also wld like to see some 5sfte vs 3rd gen 3sgte track videos......tongue.gif or is that asking too much?..

Hi batman722, very impressed with the work you have done to your car. I'm in the UK and am putting a 3SGTE from a ST205 into a ST202 droptop - should be interesting.
Please tell me what you have done regarding the axle's. I too will be useing the same gearbox as you - E153.
What I want to know is as the output drives of the E153 gearbox is bigger than that of the S series box, did you just change the inner CV joints of the ST205 to the standard axles of the GT.
