ST205ís are not difficult at all to service here in the States.

^This. Parts aren't hard to come by, they are just more expensive.

Well, I thought I had all the parts to change the clutch, but when I pulled off the flywheel to replace the friction disk:

Turns out, this flywheel was from an early production run that Fidanza did for the 3S, and they no longer support the old bolt pattern. It took two weeks, but in the end, they took really good care of me and we worked out a deal for a new flywheel. Let's just say, that they have earned my return business and my recommendation to anyone looking for a lightweight flywheel. Customer service was top notch.

Now, I can start getting this thing back together.

If Annette keeps them up, I'm sure we'll be back down at the Dragon in a year or two.

Both the wife and myself sincerely miss driving down there.

Listen to him.

At the end of the day, he's the only one who really knows this swap.

After it being apart for more than 6 weeks, I need to start celebrating even the little victories.

Who knew that kids required so much time.... laugh.gif

No photos, but I did get the intercooler pump rebuilt last night.

It won't be making any more noise. We tested it with a power probe after reassembly and it still made a little noise, but you won't hear it when it's in the car. woot.gif

This may be the start of a series of "Fixing broken 6gcs in the midwest" meets. *FIX ALL THE CELIS!*

I kinda like this idea.... Although I think Danial and I started this back when we did his first BEAMS swap.

THE TRADITION LIVES!

You've got most of it. I HIGHLY suggest reading through Marc's (Gouky) thread on MR2OC.

He pioneered this swap into the SW20, which translates a lot of info into the 5/6gc. He was meticulous in documenting the swap, and was the base for NJCCMD's info.

Read it, Love it

And don't worry about Casey, she's just being punchy. In fact, we've all made the same mistake.

Also,

Take a look at this thread for more info too.

My best theory is that the turbo seals on the compressor side let go. Thus boost is pressurizing the crank case via the drain tube.

I think it makes sense because the factory catchcan pcv setup was in good working order. So it would take a lot of excess pressure to overwhelm it to the point of popping a dipstick. Since the leakdown checked okay that leaves the turbo as the only source of that much pressure

Unless theres a mis routed hose somewhere directing boost into the head i cant imagine another path except through the cartridge and drain tube

That's fair. I hadn't considered the oil seal as a leak path.

I still want to know what was causing the high crankcase pressure.

You tell 'em!

I love the irritated tone of this whole post, despite the fact that it's so anti-'Berto, I can totally picture him saying this in person.

I told them that you guys were booked up (as I assume you are), so probably not.

In case you do want to come, it's on the 8th! laugh.gif laugh.gif

I hope so as well. Would be nice to have my garage back under control.

And everyone coming is mostly coming for moral support and food more than anything. hahaha.

Yea... I don't do so well with that. Just ask Daniel. I have the bad tendency to just take over everything. So probably good that chances are low of us making it.

The E153 was used in the Solara until recently, maybe I would start there.

Get your 2GR, get an auto trans from a 00 solara with a 5S, figure out how to put them together, then figure out what needs to be cut to get into the car.

Driving that road feeds something inside me, truly. I could stay there and drive it all day every day!

Hit the nail on the head Lindsay. It's difficult to translate the feeling into words for me.

Did you guys hit up the Cherohala Skyway at all?

Those two roads are my driving nirvana.
