Pictures from this year , the last ones I have .

I had to change the wastegate for a smaller one , I did also all the coolant line with aluminum hard line with wiggins clamp and installed the polished panel over the radiator. All the coolant lines and bypass are custom and without thermostat. (controlled by the electric water pump )

Notice ; I had also to made a shield for the clutch slave just behind the turbo and I use the water port on the tial wastegate .

I just cut the bumper the get the intercooler fit , same thing for the oil cooler . I will have to do some finition later ...

I also add jdm projectors finally ..............................

Unfortunately the celi is stored for the winter but I will post what I'm doing this winter.

Hope you enjoy ,

The rods are pauter , I think this is the last thing that will/can broke in my engine. So large that the bottom of the cylinders have to be grinded for clearance !

Spectacular build, subscribed!

A few questions:
The 7A-GTE engine, I take it, is a 7A-FE (standard 1.8lt ST engine) with a 4AGE head (initnally a 20V blacktop, then a 16V) and a turbocharger. Right?

14in brake rotors are… 355.6mm! My oh my… what diameter are your wheel rims?

Regarding the longer studs and spacers for the wheels, what size are your tires? I'd like to get a feeling of how far out they go with the spacers.

Thanks,
M.

7A = block GE= head (16v or 20V) T=turbo

I have 19 inch wheels , so much space to fill on celica . I have 19x8 front 19x9 rear . I will try 20mm rear spacer and 30mm front with more camber. I will need to change wheels if I want to get more .

I just finish the test fit the brakes I'll post some pictures .

I want details! Where/what you bought, and how they perform.

Here we go ;

Rotors are wilwood srp 14''x1.10'' , got them on ebay for 550 $. At the time to pay seller ask me if I want the wilwood hats for 125 $ more . They were made for corvette so I got them redrilled to 5x100.

After that I decided to match the rotors with wilwood 6 pistons calipers . Choice are radial or lug mount . Bought them on ebay also , 850$ with polymatrix pads type E compound . I prefer and buy lug mount caliper because it's easier to make the bracket .

Finally I contact a brake company specialized in custom brake with all my specs to get the bracket made . They already have the celica hub mounting/offset mesurement , I just tell them the specs of the calipers and rotors/hats .I got also the brakes lines and all hardware (spacers , bolts , washers) total 350$ .

The only issue I have are the pads fitment over the rotors. Wilwood list the calipers I have to go over 14'' rotors but they don't . So I need to re-profiled the pads .250'' lower to get them flush to the dics.

The total is 1875$ for the package. Ksport kits are approx. the same but I decided to go with custom parts + wilwood for cheap replacement parts in futur .

Unfortunately , I won't try the brakes before next year ; winter is already with us here ; 5 degree F today ....

I recently buy 2 x E58 LSD tranny from japan levin GTZ (4agze) . I'm in the process to check the fitment issues.

Just bolted with the block

Front tranny mount is not a long shot .

Rear mount will be custom made .

Just clearing the steering rack

The 2ND tranny with spare 7afe block

A lot of new things , no time to update so I will make a little effort .

I'm in the process of redone the interior

http://s179.photobucket.com/user/frotou/media/P1050460_zpsc8f40bbd.jpg.html

I add the water injection and 4 channel egt gauges at the bottom of the center console

http://s179.photobucket.com/user/frotou/media/P1050462_zps125402fc.jpg.html

Then I modify the cluster trim to adapt a complete stack dash

http://s179.photobucket.com/user/frotou/media/P1050469_zps2669972d.jpg.html

A little carbon fiber touch

http://s179.photobucket.com/user/frotou/media/P1050470_zpsa982b53b.jpg.html

A little glue over the plastic adaptor

http://s179.photobucket.com/user/frotou/media/P1050472_zpscf72ab6c.jpg.html

I think I just need the stack dash now .

Your choice of size and tickness .

The most diffficult was to cut the round shape to get nice fitment inside the cluster trim .

Posted by: frotou Jul 1, 2013 - 9:39 AM

Got a deal on autometer dash 6013 . It is actually completely made by stack and labeled autometer AND stack .

I'm very happy with the result , no more gauges all around .

Billet aluminum flywheel with quatermaster 7.25 '' twin disc

http://s179.photobucket.com/user/frotou/media/2013-04-011363_zps4609e0ce.jpg.html

Rear motor mount with urethane (not insert) , still need to make the base to bolt on the crossmember.

Custom made axels shaft from DSS

Dowel pin on the crankshaft with ARP bolts , 6 bolt on 7afe flywheel is a know source of problem .....

http://s179.photobucket.com/user/frotou/media/2013-04-011367_zpsb6a42843.jpg.html

It's such a long process but at least I do it right the first time .

Hope you enjoy !

...typically not a big fan of the 7a, but dude you deserve an award! That **** is bad ass!

Posted by: frotou Sep 6, 2013 - 4:21 PM

Well , the 7a become more popular because it bolt to the 4ag 16/20v but is not a logical choice in the celica. I just want a different , more unique setup . There are some parts available, just need to search more .

Posted by: SwissFerdi Sep 7, 2013 - 7:57 AM

Such meticulous effort you're putting in.

Hello ,

I'm still there with the 7agte celi . Here some of my updates from the last years .

I buy a B16/B18 Doc race manifold in blowout sales at a very good price .

http://docrace.com/collections/honda/products/b-series-t4-bottom-mount-twinscroll-manifold

Then I cut it and made it to fit the 4age head .

The quality and complexity is impressive .

Posted by: frotou Jan 22, 2016 - 8:12 AM

I changed also my intercooler . The efficiency is the difference , not the size . The second picture show the difference with bar and plate cheap construction .

Posted by: frotou Jan 22, 2016 - 9:50 AM

My ''amateur'' pie cut downpipe

http://s179.photobucket.com/user/frotou/media/2013-08-31287_zpscdbffdd5.jpg.html

I add 4 EGT to the manifold , the main reason is because I plan to use individual port water injection , then I can see if something goes wrong on one cylinder .

http://s179.photobucket.com/user/frotou/media/2013-04-011453_zps2b8da230.jpg.html

The pictures are from 2013 so I will update more quickly than the work I made ....

Posted by: BonzaiCelica Jan 22, 2016 - 7:17 PM

Wow flawless. Why are most turbo down pipes welded like that. I know for cost effective, but is it not practical to mandrel bend one straight pipe?

Probably because mandrel bend are too expensive or hard to get (both my case). Professional pie cut in exhaust or intercooler piping can be a work of art really , especially with titanium $$$$

Posted by: frotou Jan 24, 2016 - 10:27 PM

It was a little tight to bolt the manifold due to space between wastegate and radiator inlet .

I change my Autronic ECU from the SMC to the SM4 model . I really think this is one of the most underated standalone and really enjoy it !

http://s179.photobucket.com/user/frotou/media/P1110334_zpssn9chq4i.jpg.html

I removed the JDM cas (crank angle sensor) and now use standart honeywell trigger to the the SM4 . Simple, robust and precise tigger are the way to do it . I also had a custom trigger wheel made to bolt over the BHJ harmonic damper. Just one bolt on the cam pulley is magnetic and only 2 tooth on crank trigger wheel wink.gif

Yes I still there since near the begining. I am no more in ''show n shine'' local scene, I am now more performance oriented. To be honest I have buy the lambo doors but never installed them , I resell them here on the site but I don't remember who buy them. I will enter again to be featured , but not before I done some things/change I plan.

One thing I will have to do also is to update my ride mods in my profile ....
