My boyfriend encouraged me to buy a Celica, so I got one. We picked this one up for $1,200 with need of a little TLC. At this point, we're just going to be fixing some things up and painting the car. Not sure of a color yet, but most likely black. The car came fully loaded with every factory, American, option. It's got the premium sound system (8 speaker), CD and cassette, security system, ABS, and leather seats (kinda).

We picked it up from the young couple in October 2013.

Passenger side is clean. There is one dent in the door and a small spot of rust in the rear fender.

Driver side needs a new front fender and has some paint fading and clear coat issues up top.

Door cards

Seats are totaled. We're looking for some replacements, but we have covers for now.

Back seats are still okay. (no one sits in the back lol)

Decently low miles, leather wrapped steering wheel like Ted's GT.

Premium stereo (Ted geeked over this) and missing a heater knob, which we now have. (Oh and yeah, it's an Automatic frown.gif )

Decently clean engine bay. Needs valve cover gasket, cam and crankshaft seals, probably a timing belt and maybe a radiator at some point, but otherwise, not too shabby.

Federal emissions! This is rare to find in NY since we're Cali emissions. Much easier to delete the cat with only one O2 sensor tongue.gif

Car is originally from MN! This is probably why it had less rust that Ted's. There was also a complete service record in the car!

Here's what we've done so far:

Stared at each other.

Changed out the rear struts (top mounts were completely blown)

Changed the rear brakes and fixed the parking brake.

There is still much to do. We'll keep updating as we fix it up. Goal is to have it decent before the next CSP meet tongue.gif

Don't paint it!

Ok, I'm partial to 3L2 so I'm biased - don't listen to me.

The car looks very good for a MN/NY vehicle and you've got a great base to start from; tan leather seats are actually pretty common if you're looking for a replacement set for the fronts. I think there is a set south of me for $50 a piece. Lemme know if you and Ted want me to look into their condition.

PS: Welcome to the family!

That's up to her. Probably not lol. But she likes the idea of Work Meister's and no wheel gap. She's mad at me for showing her so many nice wheels that cost more than the car.

ugh... that's exactly why I won't look at wheels. I know I'll just die with the first curb rash I get. LOL.

We're looking at alternative wheels haha. She likes the blue spoke Konig Lightning's... But they're kind of hard to find it seems. She wants 17x8 with 35 offset or lower and is looking for something with a deep face. Doesn't like wheels that have spokes that reach the lip.

But yeah, my setup will automatically destroy the lip of the wheel of I curb it because they're stretched, so I'm ultra careful and aware of my car while parallel parking hahaha.

It should be. I don't see why it wouldn't haha.

Also, please show what you guys have for seats. The ones at the junk yard weren't terrible, but they weren't good either. There was also no back seat to match the fronts... so that kind of nullified that idea.

She's looking for ones similar to mine, black leather or tan leather, or the SE seats like you have. She's not a fan of those.

So today it made it's first drive since October. So far it needs:

•Parking brakes(cables and shoes)
•Both front bearings
•Both front axles
•Need to put the new driver tail light in
•Seats
•Thermostat (found out why homeboy the heat on full blast all the time)
•Paint and body work
•Camshaft, crankshaft, oil pump seals and a valve cover gasket (might as well do the timing belt and water pump while in there)

Welcome! Shame about the colour and transmission, but for that price it's kind of hard to complain too much I suppose. If you're like me and OCD you might want to consider a metallic or pearl red a shade or two darker so that way when you open the hood I don't have a seizure. tongue.gif I have my old seats, that between the two sets you'd have one good one set.
