6G Celicas Forums _ My Project _ White AT200 from Belgium

Posted by: thomasrs50 Jan 20, 2018 - 4:01 AM

Hi all

Let me take the time to introduce myself first. I'm Thomas, 29 years old and live in Belgium. I've been passionate about motorcycles and cars since the age of 16 and have had a few (to many according to my GF). I sold off all the bikes since I did not enjoy riding them any longer and switched completely to cars the past few years.

I started with a few very mondaine european cars (a Citroën, an Audi and an Alfa 156). They we're all nice cars, but had their flaws and I wanted something that was more fun and more reliable. Ended up buying a Celica ST185 2.0 GT, but could not afford the running cost at that time.
Spend some more time in the Alfa 156 and when the clutch gave, I switched to a Subaru Forester, drove it (and enjoyed it) for over 2 years and only sold it because I got a sweet deal on an Outback H6 (that's a 6 cilinder boxer engine for those who are not familiar with Subaru). It's a great car and I toroughly enjoy it, esp. for those long trips, I wouldn't wish for anything else.
Furthermore, those Subarus started that JDM addiction and gave me an itch for a sweet, nimble stick shift car. Long story short, I bought a cheap AT200 which is in need pof some TLC, but overall is a rustfree and machanically solid base.

It spend a few month on my driveway due to lack of time, but passed it's tech inspection last friday. I noticed that above 4000 rpm the clutch slips, but other than that, it's fun car.

My future plans:

- OZ 17 inch wheels
- strut brace front and rear
- front brake upgrade (to 277 or 295 if the avensis conversion works)
- lowering on KYB struts with KILEN springs
- stainless headers
- paintjob (keeping it stock white)

Some bad pictures:

Thanks for watching

Thomas

Welcome!
Looks like a clean car. leather seats are in decent condition too. Have fun modding!

From a distance, the car looks quite tidy, but it has some rust on the inside of the doors and some damage on the right rear corner.

Furthermore, the driver's seat needs adressing. Leather is ripped.

Welcome indeed, if I may ask: what OZ rims were you planning to go with?
