QUOTE (Mandrew @ Apr 6, 2020 - 12:49 PM) *
"Dude where's my car?" I have your car dude! laugh.gif For now anyways... It is a little worse for ware after all these years, but I've been keeping tabs on it since someone in Boise had acquired it. I had encouraged a friend of mine to buy it late last year (2019) until I could afford to take it off his hands. I am mainly after the GT-FOUR front end conversion for my own car, apologies in advanced!

But, to quote something you had said in a previous thread:
"^^ another $150 he won't get out of a 3500 car. Maybe he had some and pulled them before selling it.
I regret not pulling a bunch of stuff off my car that the average consumer knows nothing about.
I basicly gave away jdm tails, lotus skirts, carbon license bezel, carbon hood spoiler, trd shifter, and rain guard.
The guy who bought my car had no idea what he got with it and it probably wouldn't have changed anything by pulling it all."

I have done exactly that because I'm sure the next person to buy it would have no idea what they are even getting. I.e JDM tails, lotus skirts, TRD short shifter, etc. In a way part of your car will live on with a fellow enthusiast, when the panels find their way onto my 94 GT. I just wanted to reach out to you because at one point the car was EXTREMELY clean and cared for, and I'm sure you and some other forum members may be curious as to whatever happened to her. I may or may not make a FS thread, though I fear I may get roasted for defacing the car. But trust me, it was on it's last leg! If necessary, I can explain in further detail. Regards!

I don't get on here much now, don't have my celi anymore. I apologize for the photos I posted missing. I have had nothing but problems with photobucket and finally deleted my account with them. If the site can host them I will try to replace, otherwise sorry I have finally had enough of photobucket.

Nice, I was wondering if it was still out there.
You won't get roasted. Please don't post pics of the homemade crash bar when you pull that front end off. Lol I drove with none for years, I threw that together before I sold it in about a half hour. At one time was a flagpole for my 87 toyota 4x4.

I really loved that car, so much it became a garage queen.
It had some issues when I sold it. I think the kid I sold it to kinda beat it up a little. He took more life out of the clutch on the test drive than I did in all the years I had it.

It is just a car, but it introduced me to other enthusiasts, who I consider friends for life. I flew out to RI for a meet, and drove a few
of the legendary cars of this site. Pressure2's 5fste rocket, Defgeph's black rc, and my twin Hurley's 97 limited. I got into photography because of that car. It had more people checking it out in the little league parking lot than my ex wife's brand new srt8 challenger, that made owning it priceless.

No one is going to roast you. Tear that bitch apart, you have my blessing. The skirts are super rare, and were always one of my favorite mods, hopefully they go to a good home. Watching it drive away was pretty sad, not because of the car, but the memories I had because of it. I am pretty shocked the site was working, and I came accross this. Thank you for posting.

Anyone know any good swaps for my Celica? It has the 7A-FE 1.8L 16V in it now. Anyone know if the LS just bolts up to my automatic transmission?

3CE diesel alltrac swap, do it man!!

Wtf happened?
Get your lazy asses out there and put flyers on every 6gc you see. Thats how we did it back in the day. Have a meet. Have some giveaways or a contest. This place is the most valuable source of info for the 6th generation Celica on the planet. Are you just going to let it die? Boo hoo no one comes on here anymore...fix it. Donate some money. Somebody do a turbine swap. We used to say "woot" a lot, that seems to motivate people. 348 guests and 1 member. Join, go anonymous, or GTFO!! Jk please stay. woot.gif Am I going to have to buy another celica to fix this place? Because I will! Jk on that as well I have no money. woot.gif The first time I see 100 members online at the same time I will donate an old gt4 hood bit I have in my closet. It is the small rounded one that goes next to the big one. It is silver and needs repainted.
I think it's pretty fricken sad, so many good times here, so much I learned. I will log in every day until you maggots fix this... yeah, prolly not. Ok good talk, rip 6gc.

yeah most of us have. photobucket screwed themselves by doing this. Some of us have moved our photos over to other hosting sites like flickr. Nice to see you still come on here every once in a long while.

Thanks, I miss this place from time to time, lots of good memories. I agree, photobucket did screw themselves, I hope everyone dumps them.
Another forum I am on refuses to be held hostage by the ad requirements and basicly won't post anything hosted by them.

I saw it shortly after Coomer sold it so I know what it 'should' look like. It's cool for sure, he made a work of art and it's sad to see what happened to it. I would have bought it when I had the chance but not for what the douche wanted for it. To get it back to what it should be would take so much time and money that any of us considering doing it would be better off buying another celli and doing everything all over again. The fact that it was Coomers is cool but not enough to drop 4k on a parts car.

I must've been that "douche", as I was the one who bought it from Coomer.

I think he was talking about the other douche. jk It was still in nice shape when you owned it. The guy later I am not sure if is the second or third owner after you trashed it. I would be interested, but I already have a car that needs a 4A soon, and it is more fun to drive.
Being a duce owner I am sure you know what I am talking about. wink.gif

This car should be the next featured ride, great build by a great member, who has always pushed innovation on this site.
Good to see you still around frotou. That is some serious A series pron right there. Do you still have lambo doors?

She was a member for years, very unique car. She does excellent work, she shared a couple other airbrushed designs a long time ago.

Yeah, it is 2 shots combined the one of the car was a long exposure zooming during the shutter. I have been doing some b&w conversions lately, this one I kind of like, taken with a 3.2 mp sony.

another double exposure not quite as weird

All Celicas should have the sticker unless it has been removed, I did a lot of research way back when, and the plant sequence number should be just that.
Your car should be the 1593rd made. If I remember correctly all 6gens where made at that plant. I used to be able to tell from the VIN within a month of when a 97 limited edition ST was produced, then I came to the conclusion there where far more than the advertised 3500 made, got pissed and quit looking into it.
I should use a vin decoder, print the entire range of plant sequence numbers I have, and sue the crap out of them. lol Maybe they would give me an LFA to keep quiet.

I am going to think it over I will give you guys an answer in a couple days. I told myself I wasn't going to make anymore of these.
At least 10 would be required, and they would be like the last run, with no engraving

If you guys can get enough people wanting these I can possably get some more made, I just don't have the funds to have 25 made, sell 5, and sit on 20 for
1 1/2 years like the last run.

I made some about four score and 7 years ago and I can tell you hard plastic, or even anodized aluminum as mine were gets beat to crap by normal everyday use. I saw a couple of mine in 07 and the were pretty bunged up then. I still have my one keyring to rule them all, so making anymore is probably pointless. lol

I saw he was selling it, he put 4000 miles on it in less than 3 months. lol
Hopefully he learned to drive a clutch, he took more life off it in the test drive than I did in 10 years.

It has some issues, it burns some oil as 97 7afes seem to.
The struts were shot, and it needs an alignment badly. It drives straight but eats
the inside of the tires, check that soon or you might have a problem.
2 of the rims are bent, I think they are worth trying to save if you can find a place to fix them and if you like them.
I had been wanting to buy a set of black 5 spokes with a polished lip, but never had money to do it.
I had the front bumper re shot and they had some major issues during that ordeal, it looks ok but not their usual quality.
I kinda halfa$$ed the crashbar with some heavy wall aluminum tube (very light duty, more of a 2 mph bumper than 5mph.)
but it is more than I have ever had on it since the conversion.

With all that said, it does have a new oem drivers side hub and bearing, and as I am sure you are aware
some rare parts, the interior aside from the drivers seat and floormat was pretty much mint at least
when I owned it. Sounds like he put a system in it hopefully he didn't do a hack job. I hope he gave you
the extra stuff like the license bezel, spoiler and custom hellica emblem. Probably should check the front emblem
I just basicly slapped it on with 4 little pieces off doubleback tape, just for a showing, and the guy ended up buying it.
I told him about it and he may have fixed it, just letting you know because those emblems are not available anymore.

Sadly most people around here are pricks (tricities WA), so I couldn't park it anywhere without getting a door ding or
worrying about it getting messed with. It was almost a relief to get rid of it and not have to worry anymore.lol

I wish you luck with her, she is definatly a beauty. The body was in very good shape along with most of the paint and totally rust free.
I wish I could have kept it, but mostly it just sat in my garage collecting dust. I only drove it when I needed to feel alive,
and those days are over. lol

Well, I have one I was keeping for sentimental reasons, it is black anodized, but the anodizing is pretty rough on topand has been painted
black. The back anodizing seems fine, the top could be repainted and be very nice.

This is an original engraved version, it lacks the extra slots that were added later. This is one of the first 15 ever made
it flew with me to CSP in sept 07 and sold originally for $100, I bought it back, and unfortunatly now it has to be sold.

$60.00 shipped worldwide

the kid who bought my car called and asked if it had the 2.0 in it a few days after he bought it, so I don't think he falls into that group.lol
