CAR SOLD on 5/2/11.

My wife purchased her Celi in 2006 and in the last 5 years we have done a near complete overhaul and restoration on the interior and exterior. The motor was swapped by the previous owner and had 30k miles on it when she bought it. The odometer reading was 214k in 2006 and as of now reads just over 236k, so the motor itself has about 52k miles on it and still runs very smooth and strong. In 2007 a local, very well-respected detail/restoration shop owner performed a complete body overhaul and repaint. The car originally was factory red; now it is a beautiful, high quality black with mica flake. Everything but the engine bay was painted, door sills, behind lights, etc. Since the paint work, the car has never been taken to an automatic car wash - always hand washed - to preserve the clear coat as much as possible. After about 6 months (to let the paint fully cure) they performed a poly-coat which seals it for better proection, and I've waxed it a couple times by hand with high quality products.

Asking $5000 OBO. Located in Bremerton, WA.

I shot some video in February and compiled about a 5 1/2 minute walk-around of the car to show all the goods & bads. I'll apologize in advance for the crappy audio, it doesn't do the exhaust sound and tone much justice. tongue.gif

Tabs/Plates just renewed; tabs good thru January 2012. Plates are good for 7 years in WA.

The following list of upgrades/work/customizations have been performed all within the last 3 years or less:

Suspension/Brakes:
-New calipers & rotors, Dropzone lowering springs (~1 1/2" drop), new rear OEM shocks/struts, polyurethane bushings.

Mechanical:
-new starter, new alternator, new battery, plugs/wires, distro cap/rotor, "new" 5SFE exhust manifold, Borla turbo series muffler/chrome tip installed, K&N cone filter installed on short ram air intake, valve cover gasket replaced.

Cosmetic changes/upgrades:
-New 17" Liquid Metal 5-spoke chrome wheels wrapped in Dunlop 215/40's. Tires still have 1/4" deep thread (plenty of life left on them).
-Brand new (ordered from Toyota parts) front and rear Toyota emblems
-JDM taillights
-Shorty antenna
-Sylvania Silverstar halogen bulbs
-"new" front turn signal lenses
-Sound deadening installed throughout interior and trunk to reduce road noise and rattles.
-"new" sunroof glass and moonroof cover.
-Installed sun visors (none came with the car)
-new windshield (installed less than a year ago by Safelite)
-Installed rear seats (none came with the car)
-New pre-formed black carpet
-Brushed Aluminum-look dash kit installed
-Front 5 1/4" and rear 6x9" stock speakers replaced with Alpine S-types
-Pioneer deck with front USB input and onboard iPod control installed.
-Brand new, genuine leather upholstery installed, front and rear. Black leather with hot-pink double stitching. Purchased from Ebay seller "leatherseats". The old seat covers were completely removed, foam was fixed where needed, then leather installed. Comfortable and look awesome!
-matching leather armrest and shift-boot cover, armrest foam also fixed/upgraded for more comfort.
-Toyota emblem on steering wheel, and unlocked indicator on door locks painted pink to match.

I have performed religious oil changes with synthetic 10W30. It runs smooth, handles well, and has given us very few issues over the years. Overall it's a great condition Celica that we would love to see go to someone who will continue to take care of it.

There are a few issues and fix-up items still on the to-do list:

-A previous owner had installed cheap, purple toned, do-it-yourself tinting that has since peeled, bubbled, cracked, etc. I have removed it from the two door glass panes and most of the rear hatch glass. I haven't removed any from the rear side windows. This is merely a cosmetic issue.
-I have the interior hatch cover, but the "hinges" on the interior and the hooks for the hangers are missing (seems to be a common issue and I haven't found a good substitute)
-Front bumper has your typical road nicks/chips from daily driving. We have a small can of the original black paint, so these can be touched up easily with a cue-tip.
-There is a scratch and slight dent over the driver's side rear fender from a hit and run. Not too noticible from most angles except up close.
-Dome light seems to work intermittently...haven't tracked down the issue. It seem to get power and the door switches work. I'm guessing something is up with the actual on/off switch for the dome light itself.

Interior:

Custom, real leather upholstery. Black w/hot pink double-stitching.

Brushed aluminum-look dash kit.

The paint is nice, but the engine bay isn't painted, which is an eyesore. Are all of the door jams like that, too? Or behind the plastic trim in the hatch or behind the door panels?
Why was it painted? Was it involved in an accident?

How many miles are on the car? I know you say the motor was replaced, but unless theres documentation, then no one can believe that.

I'd say (because I've bought and sold three clean Celicas in Washington in the last few years) if you lowered your price by at least $1k you'd be in the ballpark on a nice Celica in our area.

Everything but the engine bay was painted - all door jams were done, lights removed, everything taped off - the thing was stripped down except the engine bay - all done by a professional body/detail shop in Silverdale. I do have a few pictures of the car right before it got sprayed if anyone wants to see those. The vehicle was repainted because when we bought it from the previous owner it had been keyed, so the exterior was in sad shape. No accidents to my knowledge (except the minor fender dent from the hit & run that's listed in the craigslist ad).

Thanks for pointing out the odometer...can't believe I forgot to list it in my ad! The car itself says 235000k miles (not looking at it at this moment so I don't have exact mileage), but like the ad says, the engine, suspension, brakes, paint, interior, wheels/tires all have between 60-75k miles. I don't have proof on the engine swap because I didn't do the swap - but I will say it has given us ZERO problems other than having to swap the starter, alternator, and valve cover gasket (small oil leak).

Like the price says, I'm open to offers. $5500 was the starting point because the paint, upholstery, and wheels were worth more than that new - but i'm not going to turn down a reasonable offer - we'd rather see it go to someone who has time to enjoy it.

Wish we could trade shells, I like that color! lol

Clean car and GLWS, it's unfortunate how little the Celica scene in the NW is though...

Thanks, man. The paint really is stunning, especially on a sunny day. You should buy mine and put the 3s-gte in it. wink.gif

Happy Monday!

BTW, the odometer reading as of this weekend is 236144. Checked our title from purchase in 2006 and it was 214k....so my estimates on the number of miles that have been put on the car were actually higher than reality. Only 22k miles have been put on it in the last 5 years. So the motor has around 52k miles on it, struts, springs, bushings, wheels/tires all around 20-22k miles. Paint & interior even less. This thing is in great shape and will last a LONG time.

When May rolls around PM me, who knows, we may still have it. We're not being forced to sell it, so we're not in a huge rush. Just don't have the need for 3 cars anymore. smile.gif

I sure hope you do, it is a nice looking car and is exactly what I am looking for. (5-speed with low miles with the body/interior in decent shape.) wink.gif

Well the buyer we had lined up looks like it's falling through, so I'm posting this thing back as FS.

Updated original posting, added link to full video walk-around.
