You're lucky Daniel is married and has to ask permission to buy anything or else he would've been all over that already. aside from the front bumper that's clean and a fair price. worth it.

Fixed that for you.

If only there was someone here that lives in Denver that could go check it out...

damn autocorrect. always changing anything wifey related to RED (as in danger)

the whole dash doesn't need to be replaced. just the airbag itself and the cover, along with the sensors and what not.
but the dash does have to come off or at least half off. it's gonna be a bitch to do but it's doable.

here's the write up for it:
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=80205

good luck!!

had to switch batteries from my celica to the matrix because it has a better CCA. lol.

and yeah, I'm one of those that live "out there" with a tank. It does suck but it's does suck. LP prices are horrible and i hate heating my huge house. lol but it's nice in the summer. barely use any at all so it almost evens out.

no problem. I hope you buy it then. smile.gif
And once you have the celi, I'm sure you will want to do lots of changes to it so you can start with the steering wheel. It's pretty easy to change out. biggrin.gif

There a few different steering wheels for the 6th gen celica.
I will try to show as best as I can.

this is the 4-post wheel that came on the 6gc from 94-97

this is the non airbag wheel that came on the gt-fours or JDM/EDM celicas I believe. US did not receive these as an option.

and this one is the 3-post wheel that has airbag. They were available on the 98-99 models.

lastly the good thing about toyotas is that alot of their steering wheels will interchange with each other.
alot of members switch out their wheels for ones from other models like this rav4 one:

as well as the more common ones like this. These can be found on alot of different models (7th gen celicas, 8th & 9th gen corollas, matrix, supras)

Malpaso did a write up on how to change out the steering wheels and it was done on a euro 6th gen as well. take a look at the stickies and search feature if you need any more help. smile.gif

TC rims look nice but as box said, they are heavy.
If you want something simple, try and find some 7th gen gts rims.
thats what I have on mine. they are sleek, OEM and lighter than TC rims.

yes, was posted here before:
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=97890

was probably just hidden for you as it's an older post. If you go to the control panel at the bottom and change the show posts tab from show:past 5 days or whatever to show:ALL and then click remember option, the forum won't look so bare anymore as all old posts will show up. lol

Also, I'd advise everyone to start transferring their photos to a different site. I'm in the process of redoing my progress thread and switching all my photos over to flickr.

I keep an eye on Craigslist over here from time to time. I havenít seen anything remarkable but Iíll let you know if I do find one. Chee La sent me this one the other day.

https://cosprings.craigslist.org/cto/d/1998...6384427078.html

yea, I sit on a computer all day so craigslist is just part of my daily ritual now. lol
that one is really clean though. Looks to be well loved and taken care of. leather seats look decent, body is clean/rust free, radiator isn't brown, no fram oil filter, injen intake and the engine bay is actually white and not filled with grime. Price is high but you really don't see them that clean anymore.

It's not about the worth of the car though. Any of our 6gcs are worth $2000-5000 on a GOOD day but we all know that we've poured more than 3x that into it and we're never getting any of that back. It's about the passion and being an enthusiast.

Also, if you think of it this way, cars, new or old will cost you some form of time or money.
new cars - unless you're a mafia member with a briefcase full of $$$ you're taking a loan out for it and that loan means payments of $300-$400/month in exchange for a car that is ZERO maintenance for some years. You hop in and drive, no time wasted\
old cars - you can probably cash out and drive off the lot with it, no car payments but you will have to spend say a few hundred or so here and there for general wear and tear of parts and some days in the garage replacing whatever breaks.

I for one like living with as little debt as possible. I have 5 cars, no car payments and when something breaks I can fix it at my leisure.

will have to get the good ol sledge hammer out

My favorite tool! tongue.gif

wait?... there's more than one tool?? I've been using this for everything, tightening lug nuts, jacking up cars, wiring stereos, etc.

so a few weeks ago, I decided to throw my extra set of JDM tails onto the freelica.
the stock one on the pass. side was hit and cracked and I didn't want more moisture and snow getting into it as it's sitting outside.
started taking it off and as soon as I took off the bolts, it literally fell apart in my hands. was held on by sheer willpower only.

after installing the JDM tails, I noticed how misaligned everything is on that side. will have to get the good ol sledge hammer out in the summer and mold it back into shape but the de-ambered JDM tails look really good on a black celi. smile.gif
