i used the kicker ssmb8's and they sound great, but they require some modification to the speaker mount and door....not bad though...in lieu of modifying the mount you can angle the speakers up and at the seats, but you have to use longer screws to accomplish this....with the right amount of power and correct x-over, they rock.

sounds like the cable came unattached as mentioned....removal of rear plastic may be in order...remove all the plugs holding it and lift up...

i would imagine you arent getting a response because not many people have had this problem...did you remove your airbag altogether? there have been people who have converted this space to a video screen or gauges...but i cant say im familiar with your particular problem...would advise if i was...sorry

i would have said to go behind the radio if you were unsure on the wiring, but since you are in the bay already im sure you can find something there. unfortunately, i cannot advise which wires to tap. however, i would recommend you run an inline fuse with your constant to the changer. and even if someone gives you a wire to tap, id still check it with a probe or meter.

just wanted to post a hello to everyone and introduce myself. i had a 94 celica at200 (if i remember body codes correctly) from 96-01 when it met its end at the hands of a punk in an suv. i loved that car a lot and never really felt the same about another one even though i went through a few since then. i guess it was just around at the right time and had a lot of good memories attached to it.

either way, the time came to pick up a beater car to save gas and wear and tear on my other car (thats my story and im sticking to it) so i picked up a 95 st204 that was sitting on the side of the road. this poor beast had been through a lot but the body was straight with no apparent signs of serious damage. although, there is some shoddy bondo work and its been sprayed on the drivers side. also there are the usual assortment of minor dings throughout. oddly enough, i've never seen another celica with this amount of sun damage to the paint...its really bad.

well, i got it home and proceeded to rip the entire interior out...sans the steering wheel and dash (not even worth the effort) and cleaned the whole thing out like and old english maid. new carpet, seat covers, various junk yard pieces, a ton of soap and water, and the interior is a thing of beauty again...well, almost. there were many years of ash, dirt, grime, and mystery stains to contend with.

of course, this is supposed to be a practical beater car...riiiiiight...

so if all goes as planned, either a 3sgte or some poor v6 will end up in the bonnet and an assortment of loud making crap in the boot. body work and paint to follow after all the interior and engine work is done. i had great luck with the intrax springs, so they will go on with new wheels after the car is painted.

ok, enough to chew on for now...pics to follow sometime soon...

btw, this site is a blessing to those of us who love this car. im sure my little celi would have been far more modded back then if i had these resources at my disposal. celica love wasnt as freely shared as it is now, and for that i wanted to take a second and thank coomer and everyone else who is responsible for this site and its up-keep...as well as all those who keep it going with insightful advise and kick ass mods. i for one appreciate you guys...thanks biggrin.gif

maybe not grounded?

i think if that were the case, they would not work. besides, that would be in the cars harness which seems to be intact...im fairly sure its an aftermarket thing...just need to know where to look...thks tho...

hello all,

i cant figure out how to get my turn signals to a regular blink...im pretty sure it has a hyper blink relay or something of that nature installed, but i cannot find it. all of the bulbs are working and there are no electrical problems that im aware of. any help would be appreciated...im kinda sick of the ricey blinker...thankfully, that is the last of the ricer performance mods that is left on the car...

yhea, they are the ones from the original post. im gonna do something about the exposed foam, but im not concerned about it yet....so many other things to get done first. the way i do things is major stuff first, clean up later. otherwise id be stuck on every little problem until its fixed, im a bit of a perfectionist. the seats really do look good, mostly like stock even upon close inspection...above indicated problem aside of course....and i would reccommend them to anyone. the seller is really good and the product is worth the cost. my advice is to bid and not do the buy it now thing. also, dont outbid someone from this site. not many people bid on these, at least when i bid, and the first bid will most likely be the high bid. i just bid until i hit the reserve and waited. no one else outbid me and i won at 350. later 50 was refunded, i was given the option of a return, when i brought up the vinyl thing. either way, im pleased with the result and can't complain about anything. there were at least 3 others like mine when i bid and i watched 2 go before that without any bids, so i figured i was good to go without any competition. i'm normally a "buy it now" kinda guy as i dont have patience to wait for bidding to close. in this case it saved me 100 or so. changing the seats and carpet really made a difference. wish i had more luck with the headliner tho, that damn sunroof panel confused me good. i figured it wasnt worth the headache....at least not now.

cool. thks for the how to, that was a first. if you guys want more lemme know. been busy putting the interior back together, so ill post final pics later. i know it kinda sucks the covers dont go all the way down but this car isnt gonna be perfect no matter how much love (read money) i put in it. its not that bad with the seat back. i had cloth, so maybe if you had leather you wouldnt have this issue.

old ones off, new ones on. i would have done them myself, but the last time i tried they didnt come out as perfect as i wanted them. besides, i really dont have the time or patience to mess with them. i took a few quick pictures but i dont know how to post them yet. they really are good covers, but not stock oem. i figured leather is a 1000 option on most cars so if i could get them for less than 500 installed it would be worth it. and honestly, it was....they came out good. but like i said, not full leather. i got black with grey stitching. the side bolsters seem a little more stiffer than stock, but that could have been my installer adding foam. the covers come with a foam backing like the stock ones and they fit really well. i really would reccommmend them as long as you are ok with them not being full leather. btw, they come from china.

i bought these, the whole geegaw thing had me rolling. especially since their "full leather" set consists of leather fronts and vinyl sides and back. they fit all right and they are actually good covers. my installer did a good job and he said they were good covers for the price since most stock seats are in that configuration of vinyl and leather. i got 50 bucks off when i brought that to the guys attention. 300 + 75 shipping total. they are short on the sides of the back, actually shows padding. ill take pics and post them. btw, hello guys....im new.
