I just snagged that wiring info from other sources including the MR2 forum that he already referenced. From the sounds of it when Luke was looking at your harness compared to the diagrams, those either are not for an ST202 Redtop or they are incorrect altogether.

the GT4 is a nice idea but servicing it can be a real pain. try to find front and rear diff fluid for it and other normal maintenance things.

Redline 75W-90NS and Redline Heavy Shockproof. Worst case scenario you end up ordering them from Amazon. Clutch is readily available from Southbend as well as other sources. Distributor and wires, thermostat, etc. can be picked up from the shelf in parts stores. Superstrut components need to be purchased from overseas but frankly if you let your suspension get so bad that it breaks while youíre driving, you shouldnít be near a car anyway. You have plenty of time to order those items, and both GT4Play and TCB ship to the States very quickly.

I know what you are trying to say, but I disagree. ST205ís are not difficult at all to service here in the States.

The Rav4 is a 2019 and going back to halogens ASAP. The bulbs are dim Ava useless but thatís not the issue, the issue with those is that thereís no control over the light. The LX is an Ď01 and Iíll say that from where Iím sitting, the LEDís are no brighter than regular bulbs but lack the reach of regular halogens. I donít want to put the old dim bulbs back in but Iím not at all impressed with LED replacement bulbs. The factory LED lights in the Rav4 are nice but as far as replacement bulbs in a halogen housing, Iím not impressed so far. Iím sure nicer bulbs from Diode Dynamics or somewhere would be much nicer but by the time I spend that money, Iíd spend a little more and do a proper HID projector retrofit. I wonít get that far into this old jalopy though. Iíll buy some basic Sylvania H1ís off the shelf this weekend and be done.

No denial about swinging, I see. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

The Rav4 is definitely switching back to halogens ASAP and Iím sure the Hundy isnít far behind. The bulbs in it were pretty old and getting dim so I was replacing them anyway and decided to see what all the fuss is about LEDís. Since theyíre H1ís, they fit about as well as I expected them to. Iím sure that being a 2001 Lexus, the projectors arenít all that good either.

LOLOLOL The backasswards route the GPS takes me to get to I-65 from where I live took me past this and I just HAD to Google it to confirm it was in fact what I thought it was.

Yep, sure is. LOL

I bet you decided to swing by there. laugh.gif Unrelated, I know, but I can’t resist making a bad joke.

I’m trying out some LED headlights in the LX470 right now. Not too impressed so far. Light output is okay but only directly in front of the car, they don’t really reach as far as the super dim halogens did. That’s the passenger side, anyway. The driver side bulb refuses to sit properly so it’s kind of just pointing straight down. Gotta figure out a solution for that. One of the fog lights already burned out in her Rav4 and it uses an H16 bulb which for some reason, absolutely no store around here has in stock. Since she had to order bulbs online anyway she decided to go with yellow LED’s. I’m on the fence about the LED’s in my Lexus but man.... the bulbs in her fog lights are garbage. You can’t even tell that they are turned on at night which is actually really fortunate because they are all glare, no semblance of light control whatsoever.

Of course I also went through and upgraded all of the interior lighting to LED’s in the Hundy. Non-VVT 2UZ and a 4 speed auto mean that this thing drinks fuel at an alarming rate while simultaneously being incredibly slow but I’m loving it so far. We’re putting some Yokohama Geolandars on it in a couple of weeks so we’ll be ready to hit some trails in the Spring.

There really isnít anything to it. Unplug the HIDís and ballast and plug in the LED and youíre finished. No different than simply replacing any other light bulb.

Ask anything else. laugh.gif

Saw your 4Runner on Facebook the other day though. Loved my 4th gen! I was shopping around fir another 2UZ 4th gen but they are ridiculously overpriced here. 100 series LCís are priced much better and I got a steal on the LX. I hate the real wood trim and navigation but the maintenance is up to date, there is absolutely no rust anywhere, and it already has a 1.5Ē OME lift.

I definitely encourage the 2GR swap. If I could, Iíd yank my BEAMS out and go 2GR or 3S-GTE. 2GRís have come down in price since Norberto did his swap but it will still not be inexpensive. A BEAMS swap can easily exceed $3k and thatís about the easiest swap we can do in these cars. My only advice is to set an extremely high budget since swaps nearly always double the planned budget, but donít let anything stop you from getting a 2GR in your car if thatís what you really want. The MR2 forums are a great place to start but not 100% applicable to our cars since we have things like power steering, like Norberto mentioned.

The S54 will handle the torque of the 2GR if you arenít driving like a maniac and launching or doing ricer gear grabs. I believe it will bolt up to a 2GR but the gearing will be obnoxiously short for it. However, it should still hold you over until you decide to go E153.

I would just like to point out that you literally left the state before you decided to break your car or else we would have had a Fix Devinís Celica meet. laugh.gif

I kinda like this idea.... Although I think Danial and I started this back when we did his first BEAMS swap.

THE TRADITION LIVES!

No meet is complete until someone gets stung by a wasp.

I vaguely remember the clock being on the radio fuse, and the radio is probably wired up to constant power instead of switched power. That shouldnít keep the clock on all the time though, only the radio.

They simply push back in, no rotation necessary. Sounds like you may have a seized caliper if it isnít pushing back in.
