s2k conversion.

parts:

7th gen celica manual antenna tube (pole sub-assembly): P/n: 86309-20300
6th gen celica manual antenna ornament: P/n: 86392-20180
Honda S2k antenna mast: Honda P/n: 39151-S2H-E01

Needed to make a bracket, used a small piece of angle iron to support the 7th gen base. I also need to file down the 6th gen manual ornament. All said and done, a very easy mod, looks sweet and clean.

Time: 1 to 2 hours

More photos to come tomorrow in the light.

As they say:

Discuss.

edit: as pointed out by lew to me, the s2k antenna is dirty...the base is clean. there not THAT off in color. there actually right on.

Awesome Job, antenna looks great, Thinking about doing this myself, just have one question. Why did you use the 7th Gen pole assembly and not the 6th Gen assembly?

the 7th gen tube assembly has the female threads, while the s2k antenna has the male threads. And ironicly, the mate perfectly. I believe some people have tried the 6th gen manual base, but idk how theres turned out. I know Valo666 used the 7th gen tube assembly and he said i workd "perfect" and after talking to him about it (at a meet) and seeing his, I decided to go the same route.

7th gen Manual Antenna Tube: PN# 86309-20300
^seriously cant go wrong for $36 from toyotaworld...local dealer asked for $65

And while I am here, 4 month update: No leaks, still awsome reception, and a few compliments from 6gc members, and random strangers off the street. Definatly worth the $55.

Ahh, that makes sense. Again, great job. Now off to ebay...

I used the how-to on the main page. It doesn't look as good as a 7th gen base, but it will save you $30 or so.

I bought the 7th gen assembly tube and it wouldnt even fit through the hole on the 6th gen manual ornament....the threading from the s2k antenna wasn't near long enough to even reach it : /

So I just had to use my old 6th gen assembly tube and super glue it all. Everything works and sounds good though.
