Just the bottom part of the strut. The part that holds the strut onto the knuckle with 2 bolts. No strut and no spring and no mount.

Can you pm me your email or phone number so I can send you a picture. That way you can tell me exactly which let you mean

im going to the post office to ship something tomorrow so ill check how much the deflector thing is. if not much yeah i can do 30 shipped

floor mats i have, steering wheel is pretty nice if i remember it right, ill snap a few pics tomorrow morning, seats are tan and the wheels are the steelies, not the proper rims, but i do have some but i can promise you shipping wouldnt be cheap. i dont mind selling them if u want to cover shipping, but im expecting shipping alone to be around 150ish.

when you say strut housing, do u mean the strut/shock with springs combo?

Hi, I am looking for the sunroof deflector. it's that thing that pops up when you open the sunroof. toyota part number 63209-20090. Do you have one of those for sale?

also if this is the white car in your profile, I see you have a tinted plastic deflector thing. Do you want to sell that?

PM me with prices. Thanks,

Anton

Sorry it's not the white car on my profile. the one I'm parting is a red coupe

I have the deflector that pops up, but not the exterior one on my profile.

On an offer, I'm guessing shipping would be maybe 10-15 bucks

School expenses are coming up and rx8 broke down too so ill be parting this one out.
if youre in the houston area, message me if you want the complete car.

parts pending are the headlights and seats.
i MAY use some parts for my swapped celi, or i might sell that too.

other than the passenger fender, car is in good condition, ill post pics soon. obviously bigger parts might be better for pick up only.

engine is out, transmission is out and wiring is out.

tell me what u need and make offer.

oh yeah, duh i forgot about that. yeah unfortunately they are a shop and need to pay the bills.

if you really do have a knock, there is a good chance the crank is damaged. you might get lucky (i have several times) have the crank polished and it will clean it up. rod bearings could be done with the engine in the car but if you want to do the mains too, its time to pull the engine and do it on a stand. If you are going to do all that, might as well hone the cylinders and replace the rings.

Exactly, thats why I was thinking it would be cost efficient for just relaxemnt and then building the one that gets out for more power. If the cost is 1500ish I don't mind.

Chances are its not a bent rod. Its most likely a rod bearing where the material has gone away. I have pictures of this in my 7A build thread.

Malhar, since you are in Katy, you can go to my buddies shop in Sealey. http://www.ddperformanceresearch.com He is a former Toyota engineer and has a bad ass shop. Tell him that I sent you.

I talked to them, since I went there before on ur referall for my rx8 ls swap,

Since they work by hour it's coming out of my budget. Close to the 3k range. Which isnt really reasonable for a simple swap for me. Their work is hands down amazing by ALL means, but for this job, its not smart for me.

Unless u can hook me up lol

If you have a knock, I would believe that you have a bent rod..

Could be, but it's very minimal. I remember on my first Celica, I thought it was a bend rod or at least machine work would be needed so I just had the engine replaced. And when I checked it out after everything , there was barely any damage and I'm pretty sure I couldve gotten away with just replacing the bearing.

But yeah I know there's a chance for more damage in my current situation, that's why I don't mind paying someone to just replace it with another 3sgte. The mounts and wiring is already done so it should be just like any other replacement job, but most local shops I go to don't wanna touch a swapped car.

I checked performance shops and they're more expensive for me right now, since they charge by hour and it's coming to a 10-15 hour job so close to 1000-1500 plus engine and then fluids etc. so total cost is coming to 3k which is ridiculous considering its a simple replacement.

My cars been sitting for a while now and sadly I don't have space to fix it myself.
Basically it needs the main/rod bearing replaced since I ran out of oil and had a knock. It knocks little past 3k now after I added oil. Obviously I've stopped driving the car to prevent more damage.

I need someone in the houston area who's willing to either replace just the bearings and do a timing belt job too since it was leaking from there. OR swap out the motor with another replacement. I see them going for $1100 average with the wiring and sometimes transmission. (If lucky)

If that's the case we just need to take the old one out and put the new one.

It's a 2nd gen 3sgte with a s54

I have a 1996 and it is DOHC.

No wayy wtf?!? And they say the 7afe wasnt made for performance ... Well **** , I feel like I'm totally missing out w my sohc 7afe st. I send need to find one and turbo that bitch! This changes everything

All 7afe s are DOHC, there's one master can gear driven by the belt and then under the valve cover theyre connected.

I might not be using the correct terminology but they are ALL DOHC to my best knowledge.

A complete LS1 weighs 430lbs.
A complete 3S-GTE weighs 421lbs.

An engine that cranks out 300whp+ in STOCK form is going to be more reliable than one that must be modified to produce 100whp more than in it's stock form. Not only that, you've got way more head room to increase the power without loosing reliability since you're straying far less from stock configuration. I think you're blinding yourself to a great engine choice with your fanboi-ism and desire to be 'unique'. There's a reason the LSx swap is so popular, it's a great choice!

Even a Toyota V6 is a better choice HP/Lb taken into consideration. 2GR-FE is 1.3hp/lb and weighs LESS than a 3S-GTE and makes MORE power in stock form. 259lbs

A bare RX8 rotary weighs 210lbs, however I believe all the engine accessories and fluids add about 70lbs, so figure 280-290lbs complete weight I guess. Bare engine means no intake, exhaust manifolds, or fluids, complete engine means ready to drop in and run.

Ah, I wasn't aware of that. I was under the impression it's less.

But I still would have a wieght distribution advantage since it would be closer to the middle of the car.
And yeah, I'm guilty of being biased because of my "love" for the 3s and toyota. But doing something not everyone has was also a factor.

As far as the ls swap goes, not a lot of people have actually successfully completed the swap with proper documentation.
Yeah, th kit is like 3500-4k with everything included, and the engine/trans/ecu combo could be found for another 3k high side.

And then custom fabrication and labor would run be another 3-4k
So not bad.
But then most people have issued with steering and the dash not getting proper data.
YES, I would have to deal with the same problems with the 3s too.
That being said, I'm not sure myself what I want to do now. Lol.

I understand ls is very common and the the benifits of parts and mechanics being everywhere, but then I would really choose the JZ over those. Both motors are capable of same power with as easy work done.

But if the 3s is possible I would prefer that. Lighter and not as long. And 3s is capable of upto 800whp if done right. And I doubt I would handle that kind of power anytime soon. I think 300-400 would be more than enough for me now. And a 3s with a good bottom end and higher boost could get me there. Later I could improve the head and increase power. And after all that, turbo upgrades are fun.

And all that from a 4 banger is just a cherry on top. Lol

But if all fails ls might be my only option cuz of cost.

[Story]
My other car is a mazda rx8, sooner or later i know its going to need a new motor. And i'm not at that level of learning and understanding everything about a rotary to build one(or get one built and manage it correctly), so i was thinking out swapping a piston engine into it (getting it done by a shop ofcourse, maybe ATS or DDperformance, but havent decided yet).

My first option was a LS swap, because its 'murica and we like v8s.
But then i would prefer toyota since im more familiar with them...so i thought about 1jz/2jz. I know theyve been done to million rx7s and few 8s, so there are some off the shelf partially ready swap kits for those.

But im not looking for that much power, maybe 300 whp for now, and later upto 500 once im used to power.
so that being said, i figured a 3sgte would be a good candidate since its EASILY capable of that power, im familiar with it. And its also going to be smaller, so less weight going towards the front, so closer to stock handling (comparing to ls and jz) and lighter too.
[question]
But i havent been able to find any swaps similar. Im trying to find a transmission that is going to work with rwd. from what ive read, the 1jz mounts to the stock transmission on the rx8, so is the 3sgte and JZ have similar bolting points? If so i can just use the stock one.
Also, any suggestions of how to tackle the exhaust problem, the 3sgte exhaust side faces the driver side, so its opposite to both the stock 13b and JZ, so the turbo might not fit. I was thinking of doing a semi-rear mount turbo if thats an issue.

last question, i read alot about people running two seperate ECUs to run different engine. how does that work?

does one tell the engine what to do and the other the dash?

If you guys find any builds simliar to this or have seen it in person. i would really appreciate some suggestions/tips
Also i know "anything is possible if u have money" that being said, i was quoted 11k for a LS1 swap out the door.
so im hoping to spend equal if not less for this swap.

Hows the body? Rust? Dents? Dings? How are body panels? Are they original? Underbody condition? Can you take pictures of underbody side rails? Where is the car originally from? Lmk i might just go this route and replace it with st205 motor.

The car was originally from Kansas City where I picked it from.it DOES have some rust behind the rear wheel and on the hatch.
I can email you the pics or text them. Just pm ur info. My photobuckwt is all messed up so can't do it from there.

Body otherwise is in good condition, little dent on the driver fender but only notice it since i mentioned it.
Few dings appropriate for age and nothing we won't expect from celicas lol
I DID buy it with Brocken bumper, so I replaced that from another Celica I had at the time. The pictures who everything mentioned.

Dude, don't worry about the dust. If you don't like dust collecting anywhere around the cluster just buy a small brush and carry it in your glovebox.
If you have any more questions, PM me.

Another thing I can suggest for you is to remove the panels that are behind the steering wheel. They are holding with 3 bolts. It will clear space for the cluster to get in.

That's a good idea.
Sorry didn't mean any disrespect or negative, just wondering because I was in that boat.

Always a fan of your work.
