I would still change the timing belt / tensioner / pulleys. Presure2's car had ~34k & mine had ~55k and they both crapped out (they were both '95 I believe). Do it while the motor's out. I'm still waiting on a tensioner from tcbparts.co.uk because lithia toyota didn't have any in stock (mr2 guys grabbed 'em up)

Does anyone here know where I could find the repair manual for my model engine? I'm considering rebuilding the whole damn thing. I don't know how many miles are on the engine because the shop i bought it from sold the gauges before I bought it, and none of them could "remember". Its guaranteed under 60k, but I like facts...not guarantees. The motor itself is very clean inside and out so I'm willing to believe that promise, but with a rebuild I'll know for sure.

*UPDATE*

Well I got several things done today. I started tearing into the wiring on the st205 frame so that I could teach myself where/what the wires that are involved in the conversion to the 5s need to go. I learned a lot! When I'm done I'll try to make a really detailed how-to on the wiring. I also removed the transmission from the engine. Doesn't seem like much, but both are equally time consuming.

Can anyone tell me what sensor this is in the last pic? It was hanging right under where the radiator used to go.

PM me your email...I'll send you the pdf repair manual for the 3SGTE and a few wiring diagrams and pinouts that may be useful

Another update....I'm sure you guys are tired of this! Trust me...I'll slow down once I'm having to save for all the stuff that I'm going to need!

We tore down the engine today, about the only thing left in it are the pistons, crank, and rods. The head has been removed for machining/reworking. The crank will be removed for polishing and balancing, the rods will be left alone, and the pistons will be replaced with 86.5 Wiseco's. Head is going to have a multi-angle valve job done, new engle springs, ats cam gears, and arp hardware.

The head gasket, combustion chambers, and bottom end are all in beautiful condition.

Can't Wait!

Ingenious way to remove a crank pulley (That bolt was reeeelly tight)

Here are a few pics of the bottom end. It was spotless.

Disassembled the rest of the block today. Everything came out clean and looks great. Wish I knew the miles....must have been very low.
