I've already asked once on my project thread and on the FB group but couldn't hurt to get more exposure. Does anyone know of any PnP alternatives to the oem charge cooler pump? My cars in limp mode from an error 54 and after checking the coolant level + blipping the throttle to turn on the pump it seems like I need a replacement.

I've already sourced an overhauled oem unit from gt4-play.co.uk but if theres cheaper alternatives out there please let me know! Thanks!

Is it this part number? 16290-74030 PUMP ASSY, WATER W/MOTOR & BRACKET

If I'm not mistaken, that's a pretty specific part for that car so probably won't have a lot of cheaper aftermarket alternatives to it.

It's $600 + shipping new from Japan. You can see if someone across the pond has one sitting around, but you may end up running into the same problem eventually.

Personally, I'd bite the bullet and buy a new. It'll hurt the pocket now, but it beats dealing with that **** again and having to do another go-around when it fails again.

Depends, how much do you want including shipping to canada?

Consider your options, knowing how much gt4play sells them for and send me an offer via PM. Shipping to Canada will be 25 euro.

I wonder if the Prius inverter coolant pump would work? Theyr'e cheap in the aftermarket and may be similar in size but I think the inlet outlet configuration is a little different. There's also a lot of german cars with aux coolant pumps that may have enough flow and are fairly inexpensive from aftermarket that may have close enough inlet outlet placement.

That or perhaps all of the aftermarket water/meth injection pumps out there, surely one of those would work.

Wouldn't be plug and play, but short of another ST205 pump I don't think anything will.

Or just go FMIC which would be cheaper than the pump and more effective anyway. laugh.gif

when i did a 3rd gen swap, I didnt have any of the wiring for the OEM pump and relay. So I made my own. First i did the code 54 delete found here

then I ran my own wiring from the battery to a relay then to the pump, I used the 12V VC signal for my trigger, so when the car is running the pump is running.
