Came across one recently for extremely cheap. won't disclose how much exactly but u can try guess it.
it's a 98 GT convertible 5MT bone stock. Sight unseen, still pending pickup so no pics atm.

afaik won't pass smog being it in CA. but verified run and drive by copart, and body looks straight to me.
I'm expecting a smaller project. Not a fan of modding, goal is to get it back on the road while keeping things original.

what I've found so far...

completely dead battery.
brake works, shifts through all gears. doors, trunk, hood, gas cap all in working condition.
nothing under the hood is tampered. clean and factory, although a bit dusty.
plenty of oil still in the engine. no leaks confirmed.
tires hold air and have a fair amount of tread left. heck if I sell the tires+alloys I get my payment back. but I would rather have them on the car.
top is disintegrated and needs replaced. same as leather seats, door fabric, and floor mats.
one of the fog lights housing is destroyed.
car still has original stereo with the casette player in it, which is very impressive. will definitely keep it if it still plays.

^ Oh yes the antenna works like new.

Old battery won't charge so I got it running with a new battery. Engine runs fine, a little vibration, but doesn't smell like oil or coolant burning. There are a couple of exterior lights that burnt out but should be an easy fix.

Wish me good luck boys. I'm gonna take it to the smog station soon.

Radical man, mine still works too. But I try not to use it so much since I have an aux cord and usually just do spotify.
Glad I don't live in state where they don't emissions or inspections lol.

very cool! at least it's in running condition. the top is probably gonna be the hardest thing to find/replace for you. other than that, seems like it won't take much to get it looking good again.

post up some pics!

^ I don't do fancy smartphone stuff but still use CD and cassette player. Occasionally some FM, not so much either, but I try to use it every once in a while. Don't let the antenna fall into disuse otherwise the mechanism can rust and seize itself.

^ Top itself is actually in decent shape. It's just the side stitching on the edge that fell off, and I made a 10 minute easy fix with walmart diy materials.
Recent weather won't make any good looking pics. It's been raining outside for a long time.

Ah yes, I gotta remember to listen to the radio every now and then when I'm parked (But the ads though...). I hate using it while driving in fear that one day it'll bend given how high and long the antenna actually stretches. Probably could do a RC joke w/ a controller and people will probably believe it ha ha.
