So i own a 99 celica gt st204 and the previous owner bumper tapped it set off the airbags and i bought it. I replaced the steering wheel ( momo) and glued down the passenger lid where the airbag deploys i then removed the glovebox and cut the connector to the airbag and installed nrg resistors. However the light is still on and yes i had the negative terminal off the battery while installing the resistors. However someone said to remove the module if i wont use them anyway. My question is why didnt the resistors work and if that isnt a viable solution where is the airbag module location and will removing this throw a CEL code? How do i get it to go away without removing the light from the cluster as i dont wanna do that lol

For those wondering i did remove the airbag module from under the center console and the light went away, no CEL and no other codes. Good to go
You have to remove the shift cover and theres two bolts holding it in place and two 12mm bolts hold the center console compartment down and then you have to maneuver the sheath over the parking brake and its the boxy thing with torque bolts. I dont remember the size of the torque bit needed but there it is so if you dont ever want airbags remove that thing lol

What code is it setting? Might be on for a bad crash sensor?
