What are the steps for doing a burn out/donuts?
recneps
to burn out pull up your e-brake put it in first rev it up to like 4-5k and side step the clutch.

to do donuts go find a really realyl empty parking lot put it in reverse get up like 30-40 mph and hit th brakes the turn teh wheels

both of these will **** up your car. i put a nice big dent in my prelude getting sideways around turns in this neighborhood and hitting and brick mailbox (the brick mailbox cost 650 to replace) .
blkGT
get rwd or...

get some trays.. like school lunch, taco bell mcdonals.... put them under your rear tires. lock up teh e-brake floor it and crank the wheel. funnest thing in the world. and 10x better than any rwd burnout tongue.gif

puts on the best show ever

Additionally, it destroys your tranny tongue.gif

when stepping on the clutch, shouldn't I be in gear at 5k rpm?

and when doing donuts shouldn't I be going forward ? I just want to know how to do it in my mr2. I just want to do it because it looks cool biggrin.gif
Kwanza26
FWD cars don't do doughnuts... then again... depends on what your definition of "doughnuts" is...

For the record... even with a RWD car... you're gonna need a good LSD to complete good doughnuts. FWD cars are pretty hopeless... but like mentioned... tray sliding is a nice alternative.

I can do great doughnuts BTW.... >=] TRD 2 way slip biotch!

i do have a rwd car and it's my mr2. I know it's pointless doing burn outs and donuts but I just want to know how to do it so I can sleep tonight =( I have tried numerous times and failed to do a decent donut.

Here's me practicing in an empty parking lot

for your mr2 put it in second get going like 30-40 turn really hard and floor it. youll probably just spin around but ive never driven a mr2.

as for when i said going backwards i thought you were talking about your celi in that case you do need to be going backards to do a donut in a fwd car.

Like I said... you'll need a good LSD. Without one, the wheels spin is not gonna allow for you to correctly spin doughnuts...

FYI: I can't do true doughnuts in my MR2 either... but I can slide like a mofo...

Anyways, here are the steps. Drive foreward like you normally would and keep the revs high. Go about maybe 20 mph in first gear keeping the revs high and punch the clutch while steering towards your desired direction (keeping your foot on the gas). Keep your foot on the gas, pay attention to which direction the end slides out (should be agressively towards the turn direction) then counter-steer while the tail slides out and straightens. Steer back and forth while holding the gas and it'll do doughnuts... if you have a good LSD... if not.. you spin out and correct...

hmmmm lunch trays wont mess up your tranny ya?

Not the trays... they sit under your rear wheels... ;]... but your foot can eat up the clutch pretty quick, and your hand mis-shifting can mess up your tranny... ;]

How bad will it screw up an automatic?
recneps
i wouldnt think itd be was bad on an auto since you wouldnt be dropping a clutch or anything.

although ive seen some really done people in autos burn out.

i saw a guy in a mazda m3 burn out but pulling up his e-brake and gradually starting out. he basically just draged his back tires for 300 ft.

phat!
Drocay
i've burned out by putting my car in reverse goin to about 30 and droping it in D.
Akimbo
This all sounds like a damn good way to destroy auto trannies. I won't try it.

re-locate your windshield wiper fluid lines. put one by the front drivers side wheel and one by the front passenger side wheel. then you replace the wiper fluid with bleech. when you want to burn out, press the wiper fluid button and ler her rip. the bleech works amazing.
bufferdan
Mr2's dont work well for doughnuts or burn outs....all the weight is on the drive wheels. You can do good spin outs though by flooring it around tight corners and not correcting or over correcting. Mr2's are mad to launch fast and have traction and balance.
playr158
in an automatic, put the car into D, pull up your e-brake, step on your regular brakes with left foot push down on gas hard with right foot let off regular brake and see them spin
urbandork
that tray thing sound crazy lol someone needs to make some vids lol
zachattack15
I have 6 trays in my trunk waiting for me to use. Me and my friend in his civic are gonna bust them out this weekend prolly. I'll try and find the charger for the video camera.

This video has some traysliding in it. Also they go mudriding in an SRT-4 lol
Defgeph
I saw a pic of someone standing on a tray while the car was pulling them. Looked like fun, I'll stick to being pulled by a snowmobile on my snowboard.
GReddy4u
I like getting on a little hill, let it roll back in 1st, with the clutch in, while reving it up to about 4500 or so, then let out the clutch and spin spin spin spin
celicarocker
i peeled out in my auto only once.... it was raining, and i just slammed on the gas...
urbandork

fastgt
you wanna do "burnouts"....go do to your nearest video game retailer and pick up burnout 3...all the burnouts you want with hurting your car...biggrin.gif
shadycrew31
yea i screech tires at red lights in my auto. its kinda of annoying actually casue its just loud... and cops give you tickets like improper tracion of tires on road. pain in rear !! anyway nice video. i never knew an srt4 could go though such abuse.
BLINKYxMUNKEY
when i had my old wheels on, i would let my car roll back a little on a hillthe hit the gas and puld pull the ebrake. my car would just sit there spinning and made a little smoke too. i dont that anymore tho. and then i cant help it when its raining. just so tempting to tear around a corner.
recneps
i used to peel out in autos just hold the brake rev it up and side step the brake you should smoke um.

and yeah slideing around corners in the rain is all fun and games until you realize you suck and over correct then hit a mailbox

Heh, hope you have an idea on how to do donuts, peel-out, etc. In no time at all you'll end up being like this guy! biggrin.gif http://home.comcast.net/~staticknotx/camar...ted_by_cops.asx

Just make sure that you have a lot of space for traysliding.

On a similar topic...
The other day, I tryed to do a stand still burn out, where I put on my e-break and tryed to burn out my front tires whill not moving. I don't know if my cluch isn't strong enoug, but I couldn't get the front wheels to spin...made a really bad smell from my trany though...Don't think I'm going to try that again... any advise on how to do that though?
recneps
haha yeah man you burnt up your clutch.
Gilbert_619

did this ever happen? if so, vids!!

I did some tray sliding in my auto 93 ST. Actually, I did a lot of it. Me and my friend ate up like 10 trays with my car one night after work. That was about a year ago and the rubber is still all over the parking lot biggrin.gif

However, my auto tranny DID die a couple months later. Luckily it was still warrantied by Aamco (from when they rebuilt it) and they fixed it for free. "I was sitting at a light and started going and it started jerking really bad!" tongue.gif

I'll post vids when I get a chance Shadow.

hmm.. so how harsh really is traysliding on the tranny?

FWD's are always a bitch to get 'baggin' smile.gif

We used to get old ford escorts and other 4bangers, steal a whole bunch of old 'stockie' rims (not off cars), then clamp the brakes on the front wheels and blow as many in 1 night as we could biggrin.gif

Ahh the memories... LOL
