this is just an example to show my question. Ok, all the kids around here are like "OMG TEH JDM PROJECTORS, I WANT SOME." I was just wondering, do all the kids in Japan and stuff say "OMG TEH USDM FOGGED HEADLIGHTS, I WANT SOME.?"
Cutrara
No, I'd imagine they'd say it in Japanese.
CelicaZR
I dont think they would say that,
cause they too have the frosted headlights wink.gif

I always wondered if some of the guys over in Japan were interested in USDM stuff like we're interested in JDM.

There could be some Chevy fans in Tokyo, who knows?

Yeah, I think that's pretty much the case... I can't really think of any domestic sports cars that people would want to export.. maybe a Cobra/Vette/Viper or something.

People overseas don't even want those; they're too expensive to export and by the time they get to foreign markets, the price they ask isn't worth the quality. Basically, you really have to be a fan to own a Corvette in Europe, just like you'd really have to be a fan to own a Skyline in the U.S.

Covettes are rare in the UK, I think the main reason is engine size, we pay 98 pence per litre!!!! for fuel so you would have to win the lotto to be able to do any decent driving in one, it is bad enough owning a 17mpukg celica smile.gif

Your fuel is so cheap you measure it in gallons ours works out to be £3.71 per US Gallon (US Gallon = 3.78 litres, UK Gallon = 4.54 litres) Anyone know why your gallons are different to ours?

I believe why we're so into the JDM this, JDM that is because that's where our car is from. Let's say they bought a Monte Carlo... I'd think that they'll go "I want this USDM"... worse comes the worse they'll prolly decorate the Monte Carlo with GOODWRENCH decals and biggo white number "3" in Microgramma font trying to represent...

The simple answer is that the grass IS greener.

because usa is gay like that and changes everything they're own way. Just like the inches, feet, yard and what not. Metric system is based on 10s and is so much easier to understand than 12 in = 1 ft, 3ft = 1 yard.

Yes, mainly because we're America! and we can pull arbitary values out of our asses. My car gets 40 hogsheads to the rod and that's the way I likes it.

the grass is greener on the other side. they get the escort cosworth. the reason why we want jdm stuff is because they have better stuff in japan that is not allowed in the US market; such as the clear projectors on our celicas. If you ask any celica owner here would they be willing to trade there headlights for projectors i doubt anyone would reject that offer.

Look at the euro st, they get 4 wheel disk brakes while we get drums. can you say that the jdm stuff is better?
