well, just got done installing my turbo after 3 days of BS. to make a long story short, i got everything on and finally got to start my car. me and my buddy drove it down the road and to my dismay was smoke everywhere!!!! My turbo is sooooo shot. I am cheap so i bought a used turbo off of a guy. There was soooooo much smoke it wasnt even funny. But i dont care because that was the loudest spooling turbo i have ever heard in my life. I am ordering a NEW (keyword NEW) turbo tomorrow and i hope to have the beast running in a couple weeks. I have actually heard a turbo spool up on my celica. The moral of this story is........ DONT BUY USED TURBOS FROM SOME GUY IN CANADA!!!!!!!lol you live and you learn

As you may know, the oil may be leaking into the intake or exhaust housing.
Keep s serious eye on your oil level.

Before you order a new turbo, you can actuallty rebuld your turbo. I haven't actually done, but my cousin says its real easy. You basically take apart your turbo, pull out the gaskets and replace them. Put it back together and you're done. Unless you have real physical damage to any of the fins or cracks in the turbo, it should run like new.

yea, i thought about rebuilding the k24 but in order to do that right it is best to also get everything balanced as well. for what i would pay to get it fully rebuilt i can find a nice t3. i am thinking about just buying a new manifold and turbo from jgs but havent really decided. on that note, if anyone wants to buy a manifold and kkk k24 turbocharger let me know

.
west: luckily i was going to get the piping run the next day so i didnt have any piping connected to the turbo at the time. i was just checking for leaks before i got up in the morning and tried to drive to the exhaust shop.

I'd get it from JGS so that you know you're buying from a reliable source. The guy comes around on the forums & even posts for some people who are asking questions.

If the intake had be ran, you will still get that problem.
But I do not understand your statement.
Either, this is a lesson for others.
If the seals between the compress and the turbine are going or gone., oil will flow into both or either housing. This is so since you have an oil line running to the turbo.

The celica looks mint with ground effects but i wuld like to add some performance stuff to it. you have any suggestions where and how much it would be. I live in british columbia, canada so it's kinda hard to find parts for the damn thing.
