As of now I am gathering up all the info needed to swap a ST185 225hp in the ol' GT. Some problems, lets see how good you guys are. When buying the JDM spec engine how the hell would I pass emissions? But more importantly how easy is it to do auto to manny swap, or would it be easier to rebuild the auto tranny to take the power. Lastly I dont care what state who would have the credentials and know how to do this this swap down to the electrical schematics. What site can I find for aftermarket parts for it. If you have this engine what was your tune to the wheels.

you need the original smog equipment form a USDM 90-93 All Trac

if you need mods for the engine try these sites

www.6gc.net (look in the parts database)
www.alltrac.net
www.takakaira.com
www.celica.net (look in parts page)

there are many many many of them

for the wiring harness contact Qatar11 on aol instant messenger. he can do it for $450. compared to ELP who will do it for $1000.

i would also say to do some research on the engine and GT-Fours in general....

aftermarket parst abound for this engine.

emissions will depend on where you live. if you want to pass legally, you'll have to get the intake mani off of a US alltrac or mr2, the 2nd catalytic converter, and all the EGR equipment. IMO, better to just find a place that will pass you.

mike (qatar11) is your man for the wiring.

you can rebuild the auto, but that will cost more than a manual swap, probably.

what you get to the wheels will depend on what extras you add to the engine.

good luck! if you have any more ?s just post.
