I know this item:
Has been placed on the 4AGE and the 3SGE engines, but does anyone know whether this will also work on the 3SGTE engines?

It is called ITB (individual throttle body)
A turbocharged engine will still need an intake plenum.
So, single TB is much more practical.
And most likely, it won't fit on transverse mounted engine like 3sgte in Celica

yup it will work...for our cars though, you will need to do one of 4 things... Have shorter runners ( kinda like the second pic,) atachment on the stock intake manifold, cutting into the firewall to make room for the itb's (not recommended), or also doing what gary said, and attach an intake plenum to the itb's, in which case the last option in best for the fwd celica, and actually hase fewer drawbacks than one would think...there are alot of 3sgte's running itb's with various designs...if you were to google around, im sure youll pull up some prior used designs bro ^_^
