OK, car is pretty much done now. Just waiting for a couple od reducers. Also dont worry, I will have clipped the hoses to the pipes. biggrin.gif

This is a low boost set up. While running this, I will source another 7A and rebuild that to take more boost. My car has a good bil of health. No leaks, no cracks, no compression defects.

What I would like to know is this..

1. What afr should I aim for across the board (using SAFC2 but will upgrade to emanage)
2. what is save boost level for a stock 7a. I see some of you are running high boost. I was thinking no more than 8 or 9. Most possibly 7psi. Dont worry, I know how to map an SAFC and will be using a rolling road with wide band.
3. I have V Groove NGK plugs. They cool?

now the pics.....

Did you get the injectors yet? I checked it today and the page hasn't changed one bit. I'm worried myself. If it doesn't get there by wednesday, let me know and I'll refund you your money.

Do you a favor...

Cheers dude.

Guys, I started up the car today and it run ok...with the old MAP sensor. When I plugged in the 2 BAR map sensor, it just died after a few seconds.

Also, when setting up the SAFC2 again, I set it to Pressure sensor, with 1 In / 1 out. However, most toyotas listed on the SAFC manual with MAP sensors are 3 in / 3 out.

Any help appreciated thanks. This is kinda urgent.

Jay.

jesterwr217
leave it one in and one out and dont put the 2 bar on until u put the new injectors in ull throw a cel but dont worry about it

What do you mean by that, throw a cel?
jesterwr217
it will cause you check engine light to come on
FunkySR
ok thanks man.

I was reading up on the faqs for usps. They said that international shipping for priority doesn't show tracking. Since I brought them in on the 27th, they probably shipped it on the 28th. So it should be there before Wednesday.
jesterwr217
just to let you know under boost your going to smoke alot

Why is that?

when you do your oil return line you want it short and as straight as possible. the curves in your return line will cause the oil to pool and create smoke

that intercooler is way too small !!!!!!! search for something bigger.

If he's not planning to run over 7psi, why would he. The size of that intercooler looks good enough to support the amount of boost he's pushing.

x2 intercooler is fine until he moves up in boost

yeh, not running big boost peeps.

The oil return is supported by a pump. He did say if I left the line the way it was i was gonna smoke, so the pump was installed to aid draining. Result, no smoke. biggrin.gif

ahhh true didnt notice that theoretically that should work i wonder if it will work like its supposed to

try to get a shot of the dp on the car if possible for me thx
CaliJeff
If that is a wire i see for a battery relocation.. its way too small. Also, i dont see any t-clamps except around the turbo and near the tb. Was the pipes just put on to see if they will fit?

Hi ya.

yes, those shots were taken after trial fittings. They have all now been clamped.

No, teh battery managed to stay. The wire is for a small 2 channel amp under the passenger seat for my front MB Quart component speakers. biggrin.gif

anyway he would be interested in fabbing another from scratch im not too happy with mine and how much did he charge you
FunkySR
he'd love to, but seen as you are in the states and i'm in UK will be a bit difficult. Also I have a T25 turbo. Unless you want to send me yours and get him to make you a copy??
pabel89
question: my tuner said thats its weird how a car that doesnt come turbo and its not built to be turbo bring a map sensor...he said N/A dont bring map sesnors?
FunkySR
hey dude. All the Celica ST's and SR's have MAP sensors (well the UK ones anyway).
pabel89
yea so does mine...i just want to know if thats a true fact?
FunkySR
well all cars with ECU either have a MAP or MAF sensor for the ECU to work out air coming in. Most boosted Nissans use MAF. just depends on design really.

Granted, most tuners prefer MAP and upgraded ECU's cater for this.
mikecelica
We have map sensors too but they are 1 bar, so they read -15 vacume to 0 pressure. Thats why we need a 2 bar to be able to read till 15psi from -15psi.
jesterwr217
well what i would have to do is send him a flange that matches my turbo and if he could copy your dp and just use my flange that would be awsome
mikecelica
if its a good price i might be down for this too.
FunkySR
ok i'll speak to him.

yes, i have 2 2BAR map sensor at the minute. biggrin.gif
FunkySR
woop woop.

Car is all finished, and mapped. I'm getting 11-13 AFR on boost and 14's on low boost. I did all this with wideband, a trusty passenger friend (and note taker) and on the road.

What I'm not sure off is my fuel pressure. I have 2bar map sensor and adjustable FPR.

At present, on idle, and vacuum hose connected, fuel pressure is just under 2bar. I also have Walbro fuel pump fitted (bit noisy isnt it??) ha ah.

Gonna fit my boost guage today.
AnaXyd
Do you have a wastegate?
FunkySR
yes, it's an internal wastegate
