alright last week i was driving and i came back home to put my dvd screen in my car so i get done with that and such...go to start my car andf batt light comes on so i'm like aight check conenctions n such...we it ended up being a burnt wire off from the alternator termical the copper had pretty much turned to powder...so i go to start the car again and all is well....then it started missing n such at idle...went to go drive it it shakes while accelerating and it's like not going anywhere..then i punched it and it was fine then...went to go punch it again and....same shutter problem. the car is undriveable. i checked spark plugs and they were all good. what happened was the weld on the tubular manifold cracked a hair and it charred the #1 spark wire so i replaced that and ohm checked the rest all is good. brand new cap and rotor. at idle i go to pull the IACV and nothing changes....isn't it supposed to idle up... i gotta get ahold of my buddy so i can borrow his mac scanner. will this IACV show up on codes. any places to look for prone vacuum leaks? i did a quick visual and the the hoses look fine and the engine builds boost and the spark off the wires is blue. i started the car at night and i didn't see any spark jumping across the wires at all. and now when it's warm it idles fine at 1k, but before after about a min after it was warmed up it would chug on itself to keep alive and then the engine would catch itself and rev to like 2 grand and then back down to 1k and it would be fine for acouple of minutes and the engine would do the same thing. any ideas gurus?

why would putting in a screen have any affect on the motor? i get off at 3 on fri and i have the weekend off. if you're not busy you can head over i'll be in the garage trying to diagnose the issue.

well found out my CPS came unbolted...bolted it back up and now i don't choke above 5 grand now but the misfire and shutter is still there. when the car is warmed up it will run at idle for like 1 secs and then start choking on itself and then shut off.

What do you mean replaced the wire and ohm checked it ?
Did you weld in any normal electrical wire ? or did you go ahead and replace your spark plug wires ???
Spark plug wires are silicone insulated to withstand the 20 to 30,000 volts that the coil puts out.
If you put a normal wire on for your spark plugs, the wire will not be able to withstand (hold) the voltage and it will discharge the voltage through its insulation to the engine block before the power reaches the spark plug. The spark plug will never see any voltage and will never fire...
Insulation break down is sporadic, so it may fire every few times ... but it will miss alot ?
please tell me you didn't just solder in some wire for your spark wires ?

dude i'm not some idiot...i had a spare spark plug wire laying around from my old motor and i ohm tested to make sure it was still good and i ohm tested the rest of the wires. if the wire reads more than 25k ohms it's considered bad...they were all in spec.
