Changed the title name so i didnt have to make another new thread.
So heres my question, how do i remove the axles connected to the tranny to pull out the engine and transmission. Me and my buddy already have everything disconnected except for the mounts of course.
We've taken off the AC Compressor, Alternator, Wiring harness, and all the vacume lines. Just need to removed the axles so we can pull the motor and tranny.
Please help lol i used the search button but just got a bunnch of people swapping engines and no how to remove axles lol.

If i buy a Metal Headgasket, do i have to take anything to the machine shop or can i just put it on like any other normal head gasket, and also where exactly do I put my old head studs on the block in order to lift the engine.
Excuse my noobness. This is my 1st engine swap ive done by myself without any help.

Driver Side Axle Removal:
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...;hl=driver+axlePass Side Axle you just unbolt it from the hub and bearing bracket it should just slide right off after that.
BTW if u search in the right spots you'll find the right answers lol....axle removal is in the suspension area yes it does matters where you search.

the obv first step is remove the huge 30mm nut in the center of the hub
crowbar between axle and tranny to pop it out (exp on pass side, it bolts to a bracket on the block)
remove the 2 nuts & bolt under the hub (that hold the ball joint to the control arm) swing the hub assy away and push the axle out

I havnt gotten To it quite yet. Figured I'd ask so I'd know what to do tmo. My buddy is arguing with me saying it would be easier to take out just the engine and leave the transmission. So tmo we should tackle that bridge. I'm just going to rename this thread and make it my rebuild/turbo 5s thread. Turbo will be in a few months tho.

It's a circlip, so it will need a little motivation to move. just get a prybar under it, or both sides ( I believe hats how i did it last) Might want to drain your tranny fluid first.
