Hey, Looking at putting together an exhaust system for my 98 GT. The plan is to turbo the car so I'm thinking 2.5 piping. What about the muffler? Im Wanting a deep tone. Any suggestions

Thanks

I have a GReddy SP2 and I love it. It's nice and deep. But you'll have to look pretty hard for one kindasad.gif I've heard good things about the Megan N1 though. I've heard a Fukimoto on a 3SGTE and it sounded GOOD. I know the 5S and 3S are different motors, but still haha

I like the sound of the HKS silent high power on my 3rd gen swapped alltrac but don't think they make one for my 98 gt.

There's an HKS Hi-Power universal muffler. Grab that and a decent resonator and you're in business.

if your planning on turboing, wait till you do, and do 3" all the way.

I'm liking the sound of the exhaust especially with the header. Isn't that a GReddy SP1 though? I had a SP2 on my XRS and it looked slightly different and had a rolled tip...

Also does anyone know if the OBX header is still available? I've been trying to contact them, but no one has gotten back to me yet and it's been a while.

the turbo will greatly reduce the noise of your exhaust. Erynns car sounds awesome with her turbo and a simple apexi N1 style canister.

I have a magnaflow and that thing has a very nice deep low tone. I love it.

im using the megan M-GT Turbo muffler with a 2.5' cat back, it sounds realllly good and ive gotten lots of complitments on it. its deep and not raspy as long as you put a res on it. the muffler has a 4.5' tip and it sounds great with the 5s.
it comes w a silencer but i dont use it lol it sounds stock with it on

For Turbo app, wait and go 3" all the way back to a magnaflow muffler and maybe 1 or 2 resonators to keep it a bit quite.

greddy sp2, magnaflow, even megan... all nice choices!
