Full Version: Pulling out the Beams

I'm in the process of pulling the Beams out of the clip, but I can't find the rear hook to lift the engine.

Using the pic below (not my engine) I have a hook at the front right (near the VVTi badge) but I can't find anything to hook onto at the left rear. There is a fairly chunky looking bracket which runs from the head (or maybe the block, I can't quite see down there) to the intake manifold, but I'm a little hesitant to put weight on this unless someone can confirm it is strong enough.

Assistance would be much appreciated. smile.gif

take one off your engine and put it on the beams, it bolts to the alternator bracket.

Thank you sir! Not sure why I didn't think to look at the old 5SFE in the first place, but the job is done now. smile.gif
