I got a grey rear view mirror and backseat back rests(black) from my local junkyard from a 94 celica gt(my car has tan interior). To my understanding the rear view mirror just pops out. Any tips on putting it back in? I had trouble putting it back on so I decided to stop. There is a plastic bezel that fit in a molding. Also while we are on the topic of interior I was looking to clean then rit dye my carpet black. I was also going to redo my headliner. My main problem is the rear view mirror and carpet removal. Found the sticky for the headliner. Also awesome forum you guys got going on!

Took out my old rear view mirror to replace it with a new one. It pops in but does not stay :|

for the rear view mirror you have to pop the plastic cover off the part that is against the headliner with a small screwdriver, and then there is 2 phillips screws to take out. If you take the screw out of the back of the mirror part it just falls inside and then your mirror will be floppy... I found this out the hard way. kindasad.gif Also be careful not to strip out those phillips screws, I stripped like 3 of them out at the junkyard trying to get a new mirrior for my car.

Had this happen to me today, but I went and fixed it. Super old topic but I figured some pics of the inside of the mirror would be useful to someone smile.gif

And as you can see in one of the pics, that thing is NOT getting beck in place unless you put it there.

how did you remove the mirror part without breaking it? i did this to my original and i broke it. i didnt want to mask off the mirror to paint it black.
