here's a screen shot of our PMs

this is my original WTB thread.
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=93256

and his original FS thread
http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=93245

here's the paste of the PM's in case the pics are kinda hard to zoom in.

Me:
also what year was it ? is it OBD1 or 2, and are you including the wirelimb in the pic? if it's obd2 I can't use it anyway, or the distributor. but I may still want the motor.
I was going to have Smaay do a full rebuild on the one he's got, but I may buy yours instead. I'll have my mind made up and be ready to go the first week of September.

Drumbum:
Its OBDII but you get everything in the photos... The intake is not in the photos... But the Injen Intake is basically new so everything and the Injen Intake is $300

Me:
everything but the transmission right? I mean i'll take that too if it's included.
i'll probably get a whole new oil pump and do the timing belt and water pump kit while we've got it out unless you've done that <20k miles ago.
ya shipping from St Louis to KC is a whole lot better than from Cali to KC, I think I've already made up my mind.
unless somebody snaps it up in the next two weeks ill be calling ya back.
ty

Drumbum:
Im looking for local pickup... I can possibly have it in St. Louis on the 23.. Otherwise I'm looking at scrapping it... That will save you the 2.5 additional hours to Carterville

Me:
I'm willing to pay the shipping the whole way from your house, we can get freightquote.com to do that. they will come pick it up from you all you need is a pallet of some sort.
I told them it was 30x30x30, 430 lbs, and class 70, I got quotes as low as $277. that's for them to come to your house with a lift-gate truck and get it.
keep that thing for a few more weeks and I'll buy it. thumbsup.gif

Even if you wanted to say you misunderstood me, Why would I pay the same price after all the extra stuff has been removed??
I fully expected to have extra stuff to sell and make up for the money i spent on shipping. even if i can't use the wirelimb a 5sfe wirelimb is something that plenty of people need.

i can see from the posts on the Forum that he has been trying to sell this thing for more than a Year.

he wanted $200 for the Motor Including Everything, and another $100 for the injen intake. and I paid a total of $650 for the motor and shipping. even though I had priced the shipping myself for about $275 for a class 70(engine) that weighed 430 lbs.

he's trying to say he took the other stuff off to save on shipping, but the freaking brand new alternator weighs 5 lbs. come on.
"Bump... Price lowered... Extremely good deal... The alternator alone is worth the price... "

this is what my Injen intake looked like when i got it

the wire that strapped the motor to the pallet was tightened right across it.

and this is the pic from his add

I sent him these pics through FB the day i got the motor, and texted him a couple of times. and he just blew me off.

He insisted that I write him a check "because getting his money through paypal takes too long." but it was not until after my check cleared and I asked him for the tracking number that he told me that the motor was actually not in his possession and I would have to wait a while more for him to send a check to cover shipping to his friend who had the motor.

and after 2 weeks of waiting and trying to be polite and not bug him every two minutes, He finally replied that they had shipped the motor. but when I asked for the tracking number he said they didnt give him one yet. and the next day he didnt reply to my text when I again asked him for the tracking number or freight bill. the next day I called FedEx myself and asked them to look it up just based on the destination address. They told me it was already there and they had been waiting on me to call and set up an appointment for delivery.

I was dissapointed that he removed the wirelimb, but removing the throttle-body and brand new alternator is complete BS.

and on FB he's trying to say that he gave me the motor for $150 and everything else was shipping.

VavAlephVav
I could possibly see where he might have misunderstood when i said "if it's OBD2 i cant use it(wirelimb)" but i in no way said that you could remove it from the deal, and he didnot say that he was going to take it off.

However because my Air filter (that is worth a good $100) was ruined I expect to get the alternator, Intake manifold with throttle-body and all sensors, And the wirelimb to make up for the intake.
you can keep the exhaust manifold.

that's really All I want and then I'll be nice. but this guy thinks he can just play mind games and try to manipulate me like I'm his freaking Woman. Pft, do you know what I do all day long little buddy?? You do not have the capacity to just use the Jedi mind trick on me.
You're no Jedi.
VavAlephVav
also here is the screen shot of when I sent him the pics through FB the Day I got it, notice the date is 9/15 (monday) 7:19 pm. It was delivered about 1:30 pm on Monday. but i couldnt get home to upload the pics until later.

He claims I didnt start complaining until a week later.

"You signed for what you received. All sales are final" (from FB).... Assuming the PM's posted haven't been altered that is complete BS.

I think Aaron is a cool guy, he has an awesome build and helps a lot of people out around the forums, and I agree with Richee3 when he said in the FS post that he himself has probably unknowingly fallen victim to the mistakes of a 3rd party who shipped the goods to you. However, as somebody who uses a 3rd party to ship parts on a regular basis, I know that if they stuff up it is still my job to fix it.

If the parts are gone then you can obviously give up on him going out to the shops and buying you new ones, but if the story you present is complete and accurate his response (calling you a liar and basically telling you where to shove it) is completely inappropriate.

P.S. Poor form on your behalf posting his personal details though, whatever the circumstance.

P.P.S. If Aaron is reading this and knows there is more to the story than meets the eye please just clear it up so we can put this to bed. This is in the public view now, and is damaging your great reputation on 6GC.... I don't want to think of this ordeal when I see your epic work! smile.gif

VavAlephVav
That is the whole PM thread right there. (except the very last one where he gave me his phone number and asked me to call him) aside from that are a handful of txt messages with things like "when are you going to ship it?", and one actual phone call where he told me that he had done the head gasket two years ago with Toyota parts, and he didn't have the flywheel, this is when he told me he took the wirelimb off - because I didn't need it. and I was like ..OK whatever I was going to sell it anyway.
if it was just the wirelimb that was removed I'd be OK with that, but removing the throttle body and the alternator and damaging the filter I paid an extra $100 for is what really makes it a bad deal.

really I had felt bad about the guy right from the way he replied to my WTB thread, his attitude was just wrong, but I figured for $300 the motor was a decent deal, ...given all that was included. and so I bought it anyway.
I have talked with Several other people on this forum and Celicatech who have sold things to him and met him in person and they've told me he's an Ass, pretends to be cool at first but its a front.

If I don't get my parts I promise you I will troll the shett out of this little asshole Everytime he opens his mouth on the forum and he will Never sell anything here again.

the real evidence is the way he flat out accused me of doing Exactly what he did to me. As soon as you've made a move like that I can see your soul and I know all I need to know about you.
furthermore I know FedEx economy freight wants only $230 for a class 70 pallet that weighs up to 430 lbs. I got that weight from a CelicaTech post, others insist the block and head itself weighs less than that.
from zip 62918 to zip 64155 you can check out freight costs for yourself.
drumbum
Alright, I don't know what to do anymore. Im up in arms. I have said everything, my reputation is now gone. People can read everything above. I'm not going to write it again. First off your Facebook message never got sent. I looked through the monday messages and I have nothing from you in my inbox. Ill screen shot if you want it. I honestly only thought you wanted the block and the intake. I thought you were doing the rebuild. Why would I take the time to take the stuff apart, and worry about taking the time to scrap it. I absolutely have no use for it. Thats why I scrapped the stuff when we shipped it out, since we needed room in the garage. I thought we agreed on to ship and to save money. I barely made anything off of this sale in the first place. I was trying to do a favor to someone on the forums, thats why I had it up for cheap. Also I wanted personal pickup so this stuff wouldn't happen, and we could do everything in person and not deal with shipping. Which shipping is a huge pain. I had you send a check so I wouldn't have to foot shipping out of pocket, thats the only reason. Which we agreed on. Give me a bad rep, I don't really care at this point for how far you have taken this. I will still be here to help people on the forums and such, but I will not sell and ship any parts anymore. Also I have never sold anything on Celica Tech, so I have no clue where you got that from.

Thanks,
Aaron

its kind of sad to see posts of this nature come up. I try to have pics sent to me of exactly im getting. And with freight compnanies, if something looks to be missing, i dont sign for it...

Hope this can be resolved amicably.

what the hell is a wirelimb? the wire harness?
drumbum
Im assuming its the wire harness, but that has since been scrapped. It is obd2 anyways so he has no use for it, so I don't know why he wants it.
VavAlephVav
ok grammar Nazis, wire harness. only because it was originally in the pic. but I was willing to let that go, yet ive seen numerous posts from people needing to buy one. or there are plugs I can use to repair mine. The Alternator and throttle body I fully expected to get. and the air filter was damaged just from careless packaging.
if the wire harness was the only thing removed I wouldn't have even worried about it.

The brand new alternator is a big part of the deal, I confirmed "everything in the pic" - I could see why you could misunderstand the wire harness, even though I planned to take it and resell it even if I cant use it. but how can you say you thought I didn't want the brand new alternator?
the only reason I wanted the wire harness now is to make up for the ruined injen intake, which I really didn't even care about in the first place. and I actually need the ISCV and TPS.
but then you say you gave me everything for $150 and everything else was for shipping, that's absurd.

and no I don't think im being unreasonable or hasty, I messaged you and politely waited and you blew me off again and again. and there are many people who belong to both forums.
Further, I had someone else there waiting on the delivery, and if he had refused it they would of sent it back then you'd have my check and the motor. Because you refused to go through Paypal.
we've been cleaning the motor up and replacing the seals and it looks good, I'm happy enough with that.
You send me the Alternator and the throttle body with TPS and ISCV and that will be good enough, even though I paid an extra $100 for an intake I cant use. dont even worry about the exhaust manifold or intake manifold.
am I supposed to believe that you scrapped the brand new alternator ??

Hey you know that parts car I sold you, I know you said you didn't really need any of it so I'll just send you an empty rollback.

^This is the point. Exactly.

Aaron, you need to find a way to settle this amicably. We are already a small community who should be taking care of one another. Just saying 'oh well' to this incident, will ruin your sellers reputation here.

You can salvage this, but it's on you right now to fix it. So you are either going to work to fix it, or not. You pick.
drumbum
I have called you numerous times. Lets deal with this the professional way, and not on the forums, Facebook, etc. There has been lack of communication on this whole thing. If you don't get back to me over the next few days, there is not much I can or will do to resolve this. The last text I received from you was when you received the engine, and you said thanks. So I thought all was well. Then all of this appeared. This will not be resolved on Facebook, Email, nor text. I want this done over the phone. No more lack of communication or misunderstanding.

Thanks,
Aaron

I could believe that one or maybe two calls could get dropped and not go through. but this would have to mean three text messages that I sent 9/15 and 9/18, didn't go through. where I told you to be expecting the pics through fb. And the fb pm didn't go through, and now im looking at my call record and don't see your name there either.

But let me go ahead and tell you, I just want my stuff. all you have to do is put my alternator, the EGR, and the throttle body (just the square piece with the butterfly and sensors) in the mail. and I'll take back what I've said and we can be nice.
I found out fedex had it on Friday and they set up an appointment on Monday, and once I got it on Monday I sent another message asking "where's the intake and alternator?" and you responded "it should all be there" and so I assumed it was a mix-up between your people who packed it up.
from there I sent several more texts asking when you were going to ship the rest of it and one that told you I'd send pics through fb because I don't have a data phone. then I waited.

Im giving you the benefit of the doubt to believe that it was all a mistake. but really I think you just reduced the weight to save money on shipping and put more of it in your pocket.
you can either put my stuff in the mail, or you can send me $100. you've already got the address, there's nothing to talk about.
VavAlephVav
Sorry that you guys have to look at this crap, and that I felt I had to confront him out in the open for everybody to see. because he wouldn't respond to my personal messages by phone or fb.
I'm not mad at any of you, and I don't blame the mod's because they can't make him do what is right. and it wasn't just one little thing, the whole thing built up step by step.

first, he didn't want to use paypal, and so I sent a personal check for a pile of money to a stranger I met on the internet. and then it took him 2 weeks before he even shipped it.
the address it was shipped to is on a street where one side is in one city and the other side of the street is in another city so sometimes the shipping address doesn't show up right in the computer, even though they will figure it out.
but he insisted I had better be sure of that address because "if they send it back you'll have to come pick it up." it's like he was already positioning himself to pull this stunt because without paypal I'd have no chance of getting my money back.
and then even once he finnaly shipped it I asked for a tracking number three days in a row and he didn't respond. So I had to contact FedEx myself and figure out where it was.
then when I finally get it parts are missing and the air filter I paid an extra $100 for is ruined.

I really feel like the only thing I can do is to let everybody in the community know about my experience so that if in the future somebody wants to buy stuff from him they will know what happened to me. and maybe somebody else in the past got hosed too but didn't say anything about it.
who knows. that is the Whole purpose of having reputation on a forum like this.

To anybody who's new around here and seeing this shetstorm let me tell you that Most of the peoples on here are good dudes, they know what they are doing, and they Love this car. you can buy parts from them and they will Do what they say they are going to do.
But Always Use Paypal. and anybody who insists otherwise may be some kind of bullshetter.
even now he has no intention of giving me anything else, he's just trying to drag his ass so he can say 'well I tried but now it's too late'

You have a problem... seller wants to talk to you about a solution... probably easiest to give him a phone call rather than another internet rant?

There are obviously two sides to this story. You came here to either warn the community about a potentially dodgy dealer, or find a solution. You have put forward your concerns for the former, and the seller is offering to talk on civil terms for the latter. Why not do everybody a favour; give him a call and put this topic to rest?
VavAlephVav
but he hasnt' tried to call me, that's more bs. the solution is either send me parts, or send me some money to make up for it.
