I am new to this forum and i am also new to the jap scene.

I got hold of this little beauty about 2 months ago from a good mate of mine for 450 and have finally understood why people say "Once you go Jap, you never go back".

It was completly standard when i bought it apart from the wheel that are on it.

Current specs are;

Engine: 1.8L 16V
Mileage: 145'000 miles
Current mods: some tiny wheels that dont look right on it.

so here is a picture of when i first got her

not long after getting it i had to add some audio

my mate also had a exhaust that he bought for the celica but never fitted it so he sold it to me for a good price

Exhaust could do with a clean

i have got some plans for her, just got to fugure out how i go about it.

Plans for the future

sort out the interior
- new seats
- new dashboard gauges
- redo the roof line and door panels
- it some pillar pods
- new steering wheel

Exterior
- GT4 bonnet and front bumper
- new wheels
- lower
- fit spoiler
- vinyl wrap roof and bonnet
- change headlights
- change back bumper

well that's what i have planned for now let see how it actually turns out.

let me know what you all think.

for the spoiler, due to yours already being shaved. id recommend going with a dcd duckbill spoiler since they look sweet and you won't have to drill into spots thats already been welded.

side skirts as well should be added as i think our cars look a bit odd without them especially if you're going to go with a different rear bumper.

JDM tails, Clear side markers, and LED interior light conversions just because the stock lighting set up in combination with incandescent bulbs.. makes the inside terribly dark.

i was looking at fitting a duckbill spoiler but just struggling to find one so might have to custom fit one.

the problem i have is that the UK just doesnt seem to have much for gen 6 celicas, im kind of hoping i can get some assistance with find certain items.
Bourne6Gen
I Did just come across this but it seems to be the only duckbill i can find.

Just so you know, your chassis code is actually AT200, since it has the A series 7A-FE engine. The ST202 was a Japanese model which had the 3S-GE in it smile.gif

Car looks clean though! Nice buy thumbsup.gif

cheers when i first signed up and saw all these different versions i had no idea and just took a wild guess lol

The car does need a bit of work just like any car its age but im just going to wait till the summer before i do the exterior but in the mean time while its winter im going to be doing all the work on the interior.

Plan starts in January and hope to have it all done by the end of the year.

while you are talking about the engine, i am planning on doing a engine swap in the summer but dont know what engines are a good swap that fit in quite well.

Any recommendations?

New Update

So as you have all seen above, i have had a recent change of events and got an offer i could not let down.

A good mate of mine wanted to buy a 6 gen but wasn't sure which one to buy.
We ended up going through Auto Trader for days and the came across a Red 1994 Toyota Celica GT Jap Import.

It was only 395 and could not help but be interested in finding out more details. I called the guy who was selling it and he said he had received it in a Part exchange deal.

It had;
- 135'000 miles
- MOT for 12 months
- Coilovers
- 17 inch TWS alloys
- GT Four spoiler
- Front strut brace
- Induction kit
- custom exhaust

Now it did have its bad points, the paint work needed to be redone and there were a few dents and scratches but nothing you wouldn't expect for a red 20 year old car.

after seeing all this i told my mate he had to buy it as the bad points of the car didn't even come close to the good point of the car. The problem my mate had was due to him being 18 no one would insure him.
so he came up with the idea that he would buy the GT and swap with me car for car my ST as i would easily get insured on the GT.

Now any one in their right mind would ever turn down a offer like that, so that night we all got in my car and drove over to Brighton to go and see it.

when we got there it looked exactly like what i was expecting and after taking it for a test drive i realized that it will need a clutch change very soon but i could still drive it.
After weighing up all the pro and cons of the car i decided i had to buy as i probably wont come across an offer like this in the future again.

so after all that here she is when i got her home.

and here are some picture the next day in some day light

Things that need sorting on it
- Clutch change
- Full Respray
- Wheel refurb

The will be more up dates tomorrow after i fit some new parts to it, will keep you all updated.

Now you actually have an ST202! Haha tongue.gif

It looks like your radiator cap is leaking and your missing the cruise control mechanism (idk what's called), but nice find. From the pictures it doesn't look like the paint is too bad at all.
cheela
nice trade. hahha now both you and your friend can enjoy the 6gc. Get him on here too. biggrin.gif

and yeah that radiator's gotta go right now.

The paint looks worse close up but saying that its not that bad few scratches and dents here and there but nothing to bad. i going to get it resprayed in the summer as there is not point of doing it now in winter.

you say the radiator is leaking would you recommend that i replace the radiator as soon as possible, also does it matter it is missing the cruise control thing or should i get another one of those? (not that i even know what it looks like or where it goes lol) but thanks for the advise would have never have spotted that. smile.gif

Thanks mate, im glad he has a celica now because before there was no one round here that owns one (or at least mods it) He is on here but hasnt posted yet but will get him to comment on here and you can follow him.

Not to step on any toes, but the term "Jap" is offensive as it was a derogatory term used during WWII by the allies. I'm sure you didn't know, but just for future reference.

Also good job on the trade, aside from going from the nicest non-colour to a garish colour. tongue.gif

I would absolutely suggest checking the radiator cap, and probably changing the coolant. The last thing you want is for the coolant to be spraying everywhere in your new engine bay.

The more I look at the engine bay shot, the more I notice little differences between this and the usdm st204. It's pretty cool, the japs really know how to make 'em.

/edit: the radiator is more than likely ok, although obviously I'm not there to see any cracks or deformations, or to see if the hoses are in need of replacing. The only thing that caught my eye is the liquid coming out from what appears to be the radiator cap. If that is the case it is very inexpensive to buy a new one from Toyota directly, or get an aftermarket one. I had a radiator fail on me while I was driving 50 mph and it was just the most frustrating thing that was so preventable if I had known before

crashed the car on boxing day but luckily it wasn't to bad but will have to wait till summer to get fixed as weather is terrible at the moment here.

    ............................................................
    ..

I will also be having a lot of new parts arriving over the course of the month, so as they i arrive ill update you all.

    parts arriving;

    - Manifold

    - Gear knob
    - Radiator cap
    - Oil filler cap
    - Induction kit
    - Some sticker and interior parts

    JoshuaM

    redface.gif Where is the damage?
    Bourne6Gen
it is on the rear quarter by the petrol flap ill take a picture later.

    Pictures of the dent

    On a less upsetting subject.

I got introduced to this graphic modifying app which wasn't to bad and i managed to come up with some designs for what i would like my car to look like soon,

then today a box arrived ( The first of many ) can you quess what it is? wink.gif

    FrostBiitez
I know,... but I guess that would be cheating... hahaha
    Edser
    Any clues?
    Bourne6Gen
this thread will give you a clue

    http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=94821

    Box
Dent doesn't look too bad, and luckily the back side is easily accessed. A paint-less dent repair specialist should have no problem at all with it.

    Also, nice shoes.

That or if you or someone you know has any body working experience it's something you could do yourself, basically you'll need a heat gun and some rubber mallets.

Also my guess for what's in the box is side-skirts.
    cheela
too short to be side skirts. gotta be an exhaust.
    Box
My initial thought was cat-back, but it looks like he already has some kind of aftermarket setup. My other guess is coil-overs.
    Bourne6Gen
No it was my manifold and downpipe the first part to arrive for my exhaust system, im just waiting for the last parts to arrive from Japan at the end of the month.

    Bourne6Gen
    Box
You should have turned the wheel to the left and photoshopped in some dirt and rocks going everywhere. Or done it for real, whatever. tongue.gif
    Bourne6Gen
Right so as you saw i just had my Manifold and down pipe arrive and i thought im too impatient to wait till the rest of exhaust arrives so im going to fit it this weekend.

well i got as far as opening the bonnet and taking the heat shield off before i had to stop because i realised i did not have enough tools to get the job done right, so its back to the shop for more tools. mad.gif

So now for the first time in a while we had a bit of sun and my mate (FrostBiitez) had just had a delivery of plasti dip so what better to do than spray my block for my spoiler black while he sprayed his wheels.

tried my spoiler on FrostBiitez car to see what it would look like when his arrives in a couple of weeks.

some high tech spray stand here

    time for spraying

wipe off some over spray and....

    so Before

    and after

Not bad for a first attend ever spraying Plasti dip

next up spray the rest of the car in it. o and sort out all the dents biggrin.gif
    FrostBiitez
Its turned out so sick mate!, I'm waiting till this weekend to bush of my over spray and upload my wheels lol
    Bourne6Gen
well my car died yesterday on the way to work.

clutch and radiator went in the same day, so its going to be off the road for the next couple weeks.

I have ordered all the new parts and i was going to do the clutch my self but just don't have the tools or facility's to it myself so i'm just going to send it in.
    Box
Kind of odd the clutch would go without any kind of warning, generally you'll have signs of slippage. You did make sure it wasn't the hydraulics first?
    Bourne6Gen
i knew the clutch was going to go soon but i thought i might be able to get more out of it before it started slipping.

i can at least still drive it to the garage to get fixed thats why im taking it off the road now.
    Box
Just float the gears, who needs a clutch anyway. tongue.gif

Can anyone help me, i recently bought the above manifold and down pipe from ebay and it turns out that it doesnt fit at all the manifold holes do not line up with the engine block.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JAPSPEED-TOYOTA-...=item257849acd0

Could you guys let me know what model my Celia is as i thought it was a ST202 and also what manifold you guys would recommend?

    MR-AFRO-SS2
ahh yeah can see why .first your st202 has the crap slow engine and is hassle for parts and to mod . and your st202 is the SS1 . you realistically wanted the uk version GT or import SS2 like mine with the much better 3SGE 175BHP if you decide to keep that car i would not bother putting money in to that engine and just find a uk GT or import SS2 model 3SGE engine and is a very easy swap and easy to find and fairly cheap like 300-400 as for that manifold its for the 3sge engine . i know because i have one and does say in the ad its for the 3sge model . so remember your model is the SS1 . and so you know when you decide to get new discs yours will be listed as import model 255 size discs and pads you will have to do some research

any more info just ask bro smile.gif
    igpx12
The header you bought is for a 3S block regardless, so my advice is to use a burr drill bit like this:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1pc-Head-Tungste...=item5d520b1d3f

Basically all you need to do is widen the mounting holes a little so they will line up with the bolts. I had to do that with mine because of it being a generic corolla header for the 7A, gotta love generic aftermarket parts. Of course your motor like mine is the FE or economy model motor, not saying that should stop you from anything but do your research on engine parts and upgrades before committing to them. There are members on here like Tigawoods and hurley97 who have taken FE models and made them more of a sports engine. Keep the progress coming thumbsup.gif
