I'm thinking like May 19th... It should be very nice (temperature wise).

I reached out to a bunch of car product companies to try to get some free product(s) to give away at the meet in a drawing, but I got turned down by everyone. Our last hope is Toyota, they haven't yet responded.

A couple years ago, my wife reached out to them via email and told them how we were devoted Toyota people and they sent me a black $140 Patagonia jacket.

Yea no one cares anymore :lol: I don't go for swag, I go for food and laughs and used to go to oggle Daniels hair but alas...*sniffle* his hair is gone.

This year might be a busy one for me as the wifey decided to start doing wedding photography so if we aren't booked for any of that on the day of the meet I will be there. or your guys could book us for the day as an event photographer and it all works out. lol

We may just be in for some BBQ. Hiking with the little one doesn't seem like the best idea ever.

Or if you guys wanted to have the meet closer to the city, maybe hang out and cruise around museum campus/Lake shore drive, we may be able to swing that too.

My brother works at CarMax and they just bought a 2006 Avalon XLS with 27K miles on it with a small timing cover leak for $5,000... Employees and family only need to pay $300 more than what they paid for the vehicle. Joe might be selling his Vibe very soon. Haha!!!!

So there's this new place in Mokena, I don't know if it's any good or if it's within anyones budget but it could be fun. Just throwing it out there as an activity in case the weather doesn't cooperate.

I'd LOVE to do karting, it's just so damn expensive for such little seat time. Not sure if I've ever told anyone, but I used to race karts nationally (photo below).

The best thing about hiking is that it's free and relaxing. Do you guys think that karting would cool for a backup if we know that Friday that Saturday is going to be crappy?

I went to a go kart track last year in Broadhead, WI for my birthday with my dad and brother and it was a BLAST!! One practice run of about 15 laps and then a main race of 50 laps. It beat the s h i t out of me! It was $80, but that included EVERYTHING and it was a freakin' blast! They were the closest thing to the karts I used to race that I've ever done.

As far as karting... I vote for it as a back up plan in case of bad weather.

That's good with me too, maybe we can do a karting meet some other time. Maybe I'll go check it out with someone and see how it is, I'd hate for this to be a repeat of that road you all followed me down that one time.

Joe is right, small tight track without much passing, but could still be fun. Looks like there's a sports bar type area, some games, and there's other places to eat around Mokena too. I think it would be a good back up plan if the weather gives us the donkey punch but as a primary activity I'd rather a bigger track to play on.

But there's really not much else around to do if the weather turns foul and this is sort of on the way home for some of us and not far from where we get pizza. Meh. We can try it and if we don't like it we won't do it again.
