No, you won't be needing LED's. The gauges come with the lights build in. The only "old" lights that will remain visible are the ones of the needles. So if you want the needles to show brighter or another color, you can replace those bulbs with LED's or a different color. But, these gauges are so bright and cool that you won't even pay attention to the color of the needles! |

DAMN YOU GUYS DO HAVE A LOT OF INFO!!! Now that you mentioned weight, the car with the 4a motor i'm talking about is a starlet and is has only the driver seat and the dashboard in it. Thats why it can go 14.5 sec on the dragg strip. http://www.curacaodrag.com/modules.php?nam...g2_itemId=33403 What was the perpose of the yeli celi when you removed all those components in the bay? Did you use it to drive around and showing off (without power steering) or was it to dragg only? Many guys that have the 4a motor in small cars are interested in my engine for the blok. So i was wondering if I can use the block at my advantage, but you guys made me realise that it would cost a bit of money and the weight is also a big issue. I would want my car to drive fast, but still be able to cruse around with my gf once or twice. |

Hey Guys just looking for some info on a combination of head and block. Where I'm from we have a few cars with 4afe/4agze running between 13 and 14 seconds on the dragg strip which I find verry cool. So, I was wondering if my 7afe with automatic transmision can be swapped with the following: 4a (black/silver top) 20 valve head on my 7a block and a manual transmission. 1. Can I first swap the head only and leave the auto tranny? 2. With some modifications like changing sparkplug, intake, injectors, tranny etc (except turbo and nos) would I be able to run between 13/14 seconds on the dragg strip? 3. Would this conbination cost a lot of money? 4. Is the combination of 4a head on 7a block called frankenstine? Just looking for some ideas, appreciate the help. THX!!! |

Allright Men, Good luck!!! Remember to take your time, make shure nothing disturbes the Needles... how long did it take you to do this whole thing? and "12. for them to fit perfect, you can glue them on top of the original ones. but note that the original ones might get damaged by the glue!" did you use glue? Use double stick tape. I used Glue (crazy glue), but if your hands are dirty and the glue gets on your hand, you might get the gauges dirty if you touch them with your hand. That is a disadvantage when using crazy glue. Doubleside tape may also work!!!! but remember ta the new gauges does not have to interfeer with the needles! the doubleside tape needs to be thin so that the new gauges can sit as close as possible on the old ones. It took me about half an hour to install them, but the next day I had to take everything appart because the needles where not working properly. Let us know how it went! |

Hey spider 77, Is best not no solder the two wires of the on/off switch together, beqause the glow gauges came with a small circuit inside a black box. This circuit needs to get a signal every time that 12 volt is applied to it (through your switch that turs on the parking lights) to be able to turn the gauges on. Thats why when you turn the gauges off, and back on, they wont light up until you press the on/off switch. Every thing is managed by the circuit in the black box. I find the on/off swich ugly two!!! I wanted to put a small fotocell that will turn the gauge on when you are in a dark place. But when I found out that you need to press the on/off switch i changed my mind! Do you have some pics of how your gauges look like? |

Hey guys, I have replaced my original gauges with glowing gauges and I just wanted to share my experiance with the ones that also might be interested on changing their gauges! I'm not an profeshonal on this so everything you guys do is on your own! Here is an picture of how they turned out. ![]() http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx273/D...j1/IMG_2617.jpg Nice ha??!!!! Ok, for the installation. 1. Remove the instrument cluster. removing the two screws located in the top portion of the cowl, and gently pulling on the bottom portion of the instrument cowl. Then remove the remaioning 4 screws holding down the actual cluster. 2. Carefully remove the 3 connectors but be carefull not to damage anything! http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx273/D...j1/IMG_2593.jpg 3. When you get the cluster out, remove the front clear face shield. http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx273/D...j1/IMG_2595.jpg 4. Remove the black face that will allow you to access the gauges. http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx273/D...j1/IMG_2596.jpg 5. DO NOT REMOVE ANY OF THE NEEDLES 6. DO NOT REMOVE THE PLASTIC PLATE WHERE THE NUMBERS AND SYMBOLS ARE. 7. DO NOT MOVE THE FUEL NEEDLE 8. DO NOT BEND THE NEEDLES 9. ONLY MOVE THE NEEDLES CLOCKWISE OR COUNTER CLOCK WISE LIKE THEY ARE DESIGNED TO DO 10. The glow gauges comes with their own wiring and a on/off switch. http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx273/D...j1/IMG_2594.jpg 11. Carefully slide the new gauges on top of the original ones. First make shure the needle goes through, then make it fit perfictly. http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx273/D...j1/IMG_2597.jpg 12. for them to fot perfict, you can glue them on top of the original ones. but note that the original ones might get damaged by the glue! 13. Make shure that the open door icon on the RPM glow gauge is presicely on top of the original icon. http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx273/D...j1/IMG_2598.jpg 14. for the air bagg side icons and the engine side icons do the same as step 13. or leave the original out and put only the new ones in. 15. note that the new gauges does ton come with the ABS, Cruise control and Over Drive icons! (don't know yet how to make them visible) http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx273/D...j1/IMG_2599.jpg 16. MAKE SHURE THAT NOTHING INTERFIERS WITH THE NEEDLES EXPESHALLY WHEN PUTING EVERYTHING BACK TOGETHER, BECAUSE THEY WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY!! TAKE YOUR TIME TO DO IT RIGHT! 17. When putting the black face back on, check if it presses to much on the wires of the glow gauges. if so, customize it so it presses less on the wires. http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx273/D...j1/IMG_2600.jpg 18. Put the cleare face shield back on. http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx273/D...j1/IMG_2601.jpg 19. Connect the plus and the negative wires of the glow gauges to your low beam switch. 20. install the cluster back in you car. http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx273/D...j1/IMG_2606.jpg 21. Connect the on and off switch where you desire. 22. turn your low beam on, and then hit the on/off switch!!!! 23. BAMMMMM!!!!! Let there be light!!! http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx273/D...j1/IMG_2607.jpg http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx273/D...j1/IMG_2608.jpg http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx273/D...j1/IMG_2609.jpg http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx273/D.../IMG_2616-1.jpg http://i763.photobucket.com/albums/xx273/D...j1/IMG_2617.jpg Hope there is enough information for you guys, it been a pleasure to finally put some of my experiance on this forum. And I bought the gauges on ebay!!!! (Search for celica 94-99 glow gauges) |

Hey XRAV22, I have checked with a mechanic, and he told me that some of the thin lines on the trttle body was stuck with durt so the trottle body sensor wasn't even working! He cleaned them up and now the car is working smooth! The overheating thing i still din't chek! I have tested the thermostat, but it's working ok so i'll chek the radiator next like you said! Hi you probably have a small leak that is evaporating from the engine temps. My radiator was seeping through a crack it had. When you turn the car off is the best time to look for the leak as the pressure will raise slightly and of course don't open the cap. If you can read my post about my idle (idle has a mind of it's own) My wiring harnes has a cracked wire or somethin. When I move the harness just next to the airbox where the air temp sensor takes you back there my idle will change. Since I ti wrapped it to thold it steady my idle is fine still but I have to open it up and find the wire. Mabey that helps Hey Guys, I have 1994 ST 1.8L Celica with an automatic 7AFE engine and i have a few questions about the engine. 1st. I just realised that i have to chek the water level in the radioator too often. I'm now doing it every two days. Is that normal or do I need to use coolant only, or coolant mixed with water or something else? 2nd. My car does not work smooth, I have noticed that when the car is in Drive and I'm like standing at a stop light, the RPM keep changing between 800 and 400 RPM and normally it is supposed to be working steddy at 800RPM right? When i put it in neutral or in park, it will keep going back and fort but less than when the car is in Drive. Does anyone know what might be the problem? 3rd. I want to change my spark plug wires but I don't know which thickness is good?! 7mm, 9mm, 10mm???? A friend told me upgrade them to 9mm but will that have a good effect on the engine or will there be no difference? Hope someone can help me with these questions, I appreciate it. Dennis |

Hey guys, Just need some help here. I drive a 1.8L '94 Celica with an Automatic transmission. I'm looking for the rear motor mount to buy but it's given me a to much trouble. The first problem I have is that I don't live in the US, so shipping is most of the time difficult. I went to ATL on vacation and I have asked at a Toyota dealer for the part but they din't have it in stock so the guy gave me the part number for me to order it on their website. When I have found it on their website I wanted to make shure it was the right part so I asked them and I'm still waiting (2 monts ago) for an answer. Then I search on an other website that sel's car parts, and I had to send all of my credit card info and statement and stuf and at the end they told me that the part was out of stock. Then I tried ebay and found three of the four mounts, but when they arrived, non fitted perfictly. Do you guys know of a place or website where I can get the motor mount easy whithout any problem. Or is there something that I can do with the old mount to prevent the whole car from shaking, because the mount is not broken, I thinks it's to old and getting to hard. Hope someone can help me. Thx in advanced, Dennis |

Ok, thx man! I'm doing some intancive home work and I found out that since my car has an "A" series motor it's easier to swap it with another "A" type motor. I tought of the 4AGZE (supercharger) Good luck with the car and I'll let you how it went with the swap. Dennis |
